Subject: Song is driving me Crazy

I need help in trying to find a song from the 80's or possibly the 70's I think that it was a Southern-style Rock Group and the song as I remember it had to do with a girl who was with an old guy and tried to get away from him. Some guy was trying to help her. The chorus was about how the girl was like a flower or rose or crystal that grew or burned after midnight or at night. I know this isn't much to go on but any help would be appreciated-Thanks

Sounds like the Eagles' "Lyin' Eyes," except for the flower/rose/crystal bit.
Or if the three characters are Monica Lewinsky, Bill Clinton, and Kenneth Starr, well, there are all sorts of possibilities.
