Subject: need help finding the name of this freestyle song

i heard a song at a gas station (of all places) that i haven't heard since the 80's. i've tried to type in the lyrics on yahoo, but i haven't been able to come up with anything. they go something like "i need you off of my mind" and the chorus is something like "i've/you've got my broken heart". it's freestyle with an african american singer. all help is appreciated.
