Subject: Trying to figure this song out
Written By: STG on 03/16/06 at 9:11 am
The lyrics I sorta remember might be wrong, but it's the beginning of the chorus. It sounds like a grungie-hippie song. Please help, I'm obsessive-compulsive about this junk.
"C'mon you better take care"

I assume you've done the usual searches?
For no readily apparent reason I thought it was an Oasis song when I read the lyric. No idea which one though even if I'm right.

here is the rest of the chorus, but sadly I know it is a definite misheard one.
"C'mon you better take care, i'd be running half-naked round on my back stairs"

Sounds like Sundown by Gordon Lightfoot... ???
I can see her lyin' back in her SATIN dress
In a room where ya do what ya don't confess
Sundown ya better take care
If I find you been creepin' 'round my back stairs
Sundown ya better take care
If I find you been creepin' 'round my back stairs
She's been lookin' like a queen in a sailor's dream
And she don't always say what she really means
Sometimes I think it's a shame
When I get feelin' better when I'm feelin' no pain
Sometimes I think it's a shame
When I get feelin' better when I'm feelin' no pain
I can picture every move that a man could make
Getting lost in her lovin' is your first mistake
Sundown ya better take care
If I find you been creepin' 'round my back stairs
Sometimes I think it's a sin
When I feel like I'm winnin' when I'm losin again
I can see her lookin' fast in her faded jeans
She's a hard lovin' woman, got me feelin' mean
Sometimes I think it's a shame
When I get feelin' better when I'm feelin' no pain
Sundown ya better take care
If I find you been creepin' 'round my back stairs
Sundown ya better take care
If I find you been creepin' 'round my back stairs
Sometimes I think it's a sin
When I feel like I'm winnin' when I'm losin' again

I'm going straight to h-e-double-hockey-sticks for this, but... there's also a John Valby cover version that's a little... well, less delicate about what happened to Mr. Lightfoot that night. I have a hunch it's not what the original poster was looking for, because any radio station that aired it... well, read the lyrics and sing along, and make your own guess :)
"Sundown" - John Valby
(Track 03, Track 14 on "A Midsummer's Wet Dream")
I can see her lyin' back in her satin dress,
In a room where ya do what ya don't confess,
Goin' down, ya better beware,
You might find somethin' creepin' 'round her underwear...
Goin' down, ya better take care
You might find an ant farm in 'er pubic hair...
I can picture every stretch mark on her upper thighs,
But the zits on her cl*ahem*itty were a big surprise!
Goin' down, ya better beware,
You might find somethin' creepin' 'round her underwear...
