Subject: Song in National Lampoons Vacation

I really like this song it's sort of a gospel song and Chevy Chase (Clark Griswald) sings it in the car in the first National Lampoons Vacation while he is driving he sings it pretty much after they leave so near the beginning of the movie.
I'm not sure if I have the words right but it goes something like this: "Sweet cherry pie, someone's coming to a carry me home" It's sung in a really low key/voice, when he finishes singing he closes on a really low note, I'm not sure of the words though.
I'd be really grateful to anyone who can me out to identify this song, the title and artist.

UB40 had a hit with Swing Low a few years ago. Not because I am a big UB40 fan (which I am a BIG fan), but their version was just so awesome!
