I'm looking for the title and artist of a song that contains a piece with lyrics like this:

I heard it a while ago on the radio and can't remember singer's gender or anything else useful. To give an idea of the sort of music they were playing, other songs I heard include: "Sunflower" by Paul Weller, "Freedom Fighters" by The Music, and "Mass Destruction" by Faithless.
Also, does anyone know anything about a group called The Weekend who performed a song called "80's Rock Star?" I remmeber liking the song but can't find anything about them or a CD on which it was released.

Not sure about that first one
The Weekend are a Canadian group and "80s Rock Star" comes from their EP "Teaser"
I don't remember what year that song came out, but I remember the video made it's premiere during a Much Music 80s Weekend (Much Music is our version of MTV and they did a bunch of weekends of all 80s music videos)
