OK, I did a buttload of searches, but I'm not finding the name or artist of this song. I remember hearing it a few times when I was in High School in 1982-83.
"Outside of the Tokyo Hilton
there's a girl walking around a shrine
Singing prayers to the Rising Sun
Kind of life among the travellers (?)
A brave reminder of the past in the middle
of a screaming town"
The refrain was something like, "This is Japan, this is Japan, this is Japan. Here in Japan......."
Any freakin' ideas about this????

Sounds like "This Is Japan" by Jack Green, from his 1980 debut solo album entitled Humanesque.

Duke Jupiter performed "This is Japan" on their You Make it Look Easy LP.
Hard to find on vinyl and CDs are expensive, when you can find them.
Limited airplay, hit-and-miss across the USA.
A most excellent song!!!!! Lots of airplay in the San Francisco Bay area.
