Subject: Personalised Picture

Written By: Hoeveel on 07/08/03 at 08:26 a.m.

Huy, i'm new here, so i thought this would be the best place to ask about this:

My 'personalised picture' doesn't seem to be coming up at all. It came up to begin with for a little while but it's just disappeared totally, can anyone give us a hand? :)

It was probably the place you got it from. Some places don't like you to use their pictures. Try a different website to get a pic. That may help. Welcome to the board.

Thanks for the welcome, and the suggestion. But i made the pic from scratch and it's off my site, so that's why i'm confused  :-/

That I couldn't tell you. I am still a bit "computer illiterate" (but I am getting better.  ;D)

Hiya Hoeveel
nice to wolcome another Brit to the board

I see your pic is stored on Geocities.  I'm not too familiar with them but a lot of web-space providers won't let you directly link (They want you to read all the ads)
I originally had my avatar on a similar site and it worked briefly then stopped.

Ah thanks Taoist. By the way, what part of Britland you from? I live in North Wales at the mo. It was the same with me, it worked for a couple of minutes but i haven't seen it since then. I spose i'll have to wait until my mate's site is back up then i can upload it to there.

Huy, goodsin, just go to the page where all the other topics are listed (http://www.inthe00s.com/cgi-bin/YaBB/YaBB.cgi?board=newpeople) and up above where they are listed - in the turquoise section - where it lists all the Pages (1, 2, 3 etc.) on the right of that, it says 'Start a new topic' in blue. Just click on that.

Thanks Hoeveen, however I still can't see this option. Is it to the right of message 'Mark all topics as read...' ?? If so, I can't seem to view it through the Netscape screen I'm using to access the site. Any ideas?? (Other than persuading my company to get some decent Internet connections to use...). PS anyone watching this thread- I'm a Brit too, which excuses my lack of knowledge on these matters (only just got electricity in my part of the West Country, let alone this new-fangled Internet thingee...).
Hey Hoeveen, does 'Wigga' have any direct English translation- I know it has an English meaning, but I was wondering if it meant anything in Dutch- I understand DJ Ruff Kut had some problems with his name in Holland, perhaps you could enlighten me as to whether this is true... :D

Heheheh. Wigga is just the same really, they borrowed the word from English just white or  wannabe n*gga. LOL @ 'Ruff Kut', yeah, i've never heard of him but i imagine he would have some trouble...'Kut' basically equates to 'pussy' in English, as to it's original and current meanings ;) Although i think 'kut' in the Netherlands may be slightly ruder than 'pussy' - more along the lines of the C-word in English, but don't quote me on that.

Try enlarging your screen. Put the curser to the far right of the screen and when you get the <-> (or something like that) click and pull it to the right. That may be enough for you to see the "Start New Topic" button.

Thanks Hoeveen  ;D & Catwoman ;)- Cat, I've tried your method but only seem to be able to see the 'Start New Topic' option when logged in as a Guest (at least I know what it looks like now...). Any ideas as to whom I can contact on the site to get more info on how to solve this???

Send ChuckyG a pm. You can either click on his name (which is listed under each board) and that will take you to his profile and then click on "send instant message" or if you see one of his posts (like under the Systems Announcement board) it will say, "Send instant message"
