Subject: Twit control, no more comment flooding

Written By: ChuckyG on 12/25/03 at 08:03 a.m.

let me know if you run into any problems commenting on a parody.  I've been trying to find some free time to put flood control on the comments (no post for five minutes after your last comment on the same parody). I've tried to test it, but I can't be 100% sure it's ok.

I was going to work on making the comments split up by day, but there's been a persistent spammer the past day or two that I finally got annoyed with.

Chucky G,  Thanks.  We appreciate all your efforts to upgrade and improve.  You run a real fine site.  I'm still finding my way around because I am near to clueless at navigating as this is the first time I've participated in any sort of Internet site stuff.   I'm going to have a little more uninterrupted time to spend here now and will be looking around for stuff.

Apparantly, some don't mind waiting five minutes.  (sigh)

Melhi,  It's a big sacrifice for me sometimes and I've been blown off the site a couple times by "Twit Control" for being too fast on the trigger and forgetting the 5-minute rule.  But overall I approve because those "spam" posting are really annoying.  Just have to slow down my brain and fingers at times,  not always easy. I was sitting on some additional comments I wanted to add to something I had just posted last night and was tapping fingers on the table to make sure I waited the required "5".

Paul, you misunderstood me.  I was referring to a twit who had been posting to one of the parodies every five minutes, the day I posted that.

Ah, Melhi, much clearer to me now.  That WOULD be truly annoying.  (do hope it wasn't ME)

Nah, it was some farooqcake who seemed to be under the impression that parody authors weild awesome political power in the US.   If it was you, I would have just said, "Paul, stop being a twit."  :D  (I'm sure you'd do the same for me, but you probably wouldn't call me "Paul.")

Melhi - Probably not, although it might depend on the last time I remembered to take my medication.  Right, Roger?  "Right, Paul"...Just kidding...Why, it's been DAYS since I was on Prozac & Xanax...
