Subject: Calling all tech geeks (Chucky?)

Written By: Spaff.com on 02/05/04 at 12:42 a.m.

Howdy y'all.

I'm trying to get a video of Robert Blake singing Over the Rainbow in a saveable format. All I can find online is streaming video. The best one is at http://www.courttv.com/video/ ("Trials" column, second photo down). If any of you has the ability to save this video and/or can find it in a saveable format, here's your chance to be part of a piece of fun Internet ephemera. I (and Rick Duncan, presumbably) would be much obliged.

I believe there is software called "Streambox ripper" that will convert streaming video to be saved.  I've done it in the past, but I can't remember what I used.  My PC will be out of commision this weekend, so if no one can help you by Monday, I'll see what I can do

Chucky, that would be sooooo cool. My bro spent an hour or so yesterday trying this with some sort of freeware, but couldn't get it to work. You'll probably have more luck. Just think - Amiright's first video. You and your island of misfit parodists will soon be conquering ALL media.

Meanwhile, if anyone else out there can come up with a saveable file of the video clip of Robert Blake singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," PLEASE let me know ASAP.

Chucky - not to be a pain in your busy butt, but have you had a chance to test your skills at this?

unfortunately I haven't been home much (and I forgot about this). I'll ask around.  I wonder if the video is still available online?

It is:
http://playlist.yahoo.com/makeplaylist.dll?SID=5714604

If that doesn't work, go to
http://www.courttv.com/video/

Scroll down in the Trials column, and under the Blake photo, there's a "Hot Dog" paragraph with a link to "Play Blake's performance."

My problem is that it's a streaming video that I can't save. If you can come up with a way to save it, you're my hero. (Or, rather, more my hero than you already were.)
