Sorry, that sucks... anyway, it reminds me too much of the tragedy that was Tom Lehrer losing his muse...

John, I have been worried about you and I am so relieved to see you post. I am sorry that things are so rough right now, but please know that everyone here at Amiright will have you in their thoughts and prayers. Please keep in touch from time to time and let us know how you are doing.

Take care John. Having a baby is really, really tough and the sleep deprivation alone can kill all creativity. It's also a bad time for work to assimilate your life (after 6 months of fatherhood I took a $13k pay cut to work closer to home so I could keep my family and sanity).
Drop by when you need cheering up, and we'll always be happy to see you back.

This will prolly be my last post for a while. But to all those who have reached out recently I want to say thank you. I want to say thank you to everyone on this site. Its been a wild ride. On the upper hand feel free to check out my bands website www.grayskymourning.cjb.net that will at least keep you up to date on some of the things in my life. These are tough times, those in which I feel deep regret toward some of the choices I have made. But I will take on the new life that I have brought upon my self. I love you all....Peace---Ghetto John.

p.s. Heres an idea of what I've been writing lately.....maybe then you fully realize that Im just not funny right now.

"Lost"

Its getting so da*n hard to breathe,
And its so hard to carry on,
It doesnt make much sense to me,
That you ever could be gone,
Cus' now your eyes have left my sight,
And I am all alone at night,
You know your eyes are cold as ice,
Through your darkness theres no light,

Through all this separation,
and all this devastation,
I cant find one tear to call my own,
Their lost in my depression,
This is my only question,
Why cant I mourn the loss,
Of love thats gone?

I wish that I could feel the pain,
Or taste one single drop of rain,
I cannot do this once again,
The losses out number the gain,
Cus' now your eyes have left my sight,
And I am all alone at night,
You know your eyes are cold as ice,
Through your darkness theres no light,

Ghetto John, if you're in the space I sense you're in, then I hope, through your computer screen as you read this post, your heart will sense that I truly do empathize on a level that needs no words.

There is a bright place of flowers and tears of joy.  I've been there.  I believe we shall all be there.  I believe that, on some level, we all live there, outside of "time".

When you need reassurance and comfort, close your eyes and look in your mind's eye into the crown of your head, and you will see that bright place of flowers, reunions, and tears of unspeakable, heartwrenching joy.

I've visited there in prayer and meditation.  It's real.  It's a big part of what keeps me going.  It can keep you going too.

Johnny D

When John has a few months or so with the new baby, he will get PLENTY of inspiration. ;) Best of luck to you.

Quoting:
Work is taking away my life

I know that feeling... how I know that feeling - it may stymie you for a sort while, but the parody urge may well return.  Certainly did to me :-)

Quoting:
my girlfriend is pregnant....
End Quote

Congratulations!  Fingers crossed for a healthy child - I'll expect a plethora of oh-dear-I've-got-s**t-on-my-hands parodies in nine months, then

Quoting:
and on top of that I have my band.....
End Quote

So I'll expect some recordings, too, once you've found the time

Quoting:
nothing funny to write about....
End Quote

Again, I'm sure the feeling of things being funny will return

Quoting:
Goodbye........
End Quote

Well, au revoir, anyway

Hey GhettoJohn.

To see you around here for so long has been great.

I hope everything goes well with the band, and all prayers with you and your girlfriend during this time.

Whenever you feel like coming back, we'll be here for you, man.
