Subject: Mad Magazine parody lyric request?

Written By: BillBos on 03/15/04 at 12:50 a.m.

At least twenty years ago the folks at Mad Magazine published a book containing parodies of show tunes and standards rewritten for historical figures.
Example: Leonardo da Vinci "There's no genius like my genius" to the tune of "There's no business like show business."

I'm trying to locate the complete words to a parody of Moses parting the Red Sea, to the tune of "Born Free."

Red Sea, you'd better divide now, it's time that you tried now, red Sea please hear what I say.  Red Sea, this thing I'm requestin' will mean Charlton Heston plays M E  R E D  S E A!

Any additional excerpts or full text gratefully received.  Thanks!

Well Billbos, I tried. I have the Mad 7-CD-ROM collection of every Mad magazine up to December 1998, plus most of the issues since (I started missing them when they accepted advertising) I can't find that particular parody of Born Free/ Red Sea, though it certainly sounds like them. I did a search and found similar items, but not that one. If you still want to pursue it, give me more clues about it and I'll look again. Maybe it was "Cracked", or another pale imitator.
