Subject: ABCs of parodies round "B"

Written By: Ethan Mawyer on 04/02/04 at 06:52 p.m.

Now that the first round of submissions are over, it's time to start the second. Since everyone is allowed two winning entries, everyone will definitely be allowed to enter in this round. Just pick your favorite parody starting with the letter "B" (or one that you think should get some more recognition). You have until voting closes next Friday

I guess i'll put an actual time for the deadline this time to avoid confusion: 6 pm next friday amiright time

I had 30 songs to pick from this round and i decided on this one:

http://www.amiright.com/parody/90s/cake1.shtml

But then i wrote a 31st which is a parody of a song that has been #1 on billboard for 2 months so i'll go with that one instead:

My, I have a lot in the "B"s. This is the one we have performed and gotten big laughs. Also didn't get a lot of notice the first time.http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/jonimitchell2.shtml

Wow. I just noticed that I don't have any. So unless a B idea pops into my head, and gets written in record time, I'm out this time.

I hate to chance on ruining my first and only perfect parody, but it looks like it's the best I have.

just to clarify... you are allowed to change your choice of song if you do it before the deadline... i might do that if i finish what i'm working on now within the week... but once you cast your vote in the other thread that decision is final.

This may have been the very first parody that I ever put on the site.  I know it was the first parody I had ever written.  I did a version of this back in the mid ninetys but the original was lost and newer OS versions came along after that so I rewrote it and then I think I found this site to put it on.  Somehow the lines got unevenly spaced when I posted it and it was before I really learned to pace correctly.  I'm just putting it up for exposure.  If you like it enough to vote for it then please do. Enjoy.

It was on the charts for awhile so I think it has 2% chance of winning, lol.

I've been mostly out of the loop lately (trying to stay away in order to get other non-parody projects finished!) but have been hearing about this from my husband, so what the heck.  I'll enter my baby boomer's rap:

Sorry... that song would have had to have been under "a"... but you still have three "b" songs to choose from

Folks, I'm gonna have to pull out of the competition here for a bit.  For one thing I still have no sound on the PC and that's not fair to the folks who go to the trouble of posting sound files for their songs.  I also probably need more D-RAM if I'm going to download music files. I only went with 128 and my older brother says it's "swapping" memory with the hard-drive which really bogs things down.  I tried to download one to test my sound a while back and it took forever.  I'm planning to upgrade but not at this particular moment.

I know I'll get a disqualification (and eternal pariah status) if I don't somehow find the time to vote in another round, but this is fun so I'll give it a shot.

My entry is "Bettin' on the Reds" (about whatsisname Rose) to the tune of "Puttin' on the Ritz."

Shame, it's a rather fun one...

Will mosey on over to vote now...
