"Sonic (the hedgehog)" a parody to Britney Spears "Toxic"

This is my first post on the new board and it will have its place in history.

My first parody since the reformation of the forum is a hybrid of Britney Spears and Metallica (Black Album era). It's called "Enter Sandman," and is a parody of Britney's "(I Got That) Boom Boom." If you like it, I'll do more. I want to do "The Unforgiven" to "Toxic." LOL

It's gonna be huge!  :D

Well, I'm breaking new ground here, I think.  I've just submitted a parody based on Love's 1960's song "A House Is Not a Motel" from their excellent "Forever Changes" LP.  My parody title is "My House Smells Like A Latrine".  I've included lyric & audio links for those who aren't familiar with the original song.  I don't know if anyone has submitted any parodies of songs by Arthur Lee's group,  I don't recall seeing any in the 6+ months I've been posting on this site.

Since I can't even write about Star Wars and get anybody to read it, I wrote a parody about something that should grab your attention, or else I'll be pretty surprised.

To prepare for the last time Frasier, Niles, and cute lil' Eddie grace the screen before going into eternal reruns, I have a new parody coming tomorrow called "The FInal Frasier," parody of "The Final Countdown" by Europe.

It's gonna be huge! (at least I hope it is)  ;D
Please read it to say goodbye to Frasier.  :'(

It's a parody of "Sweet Child O' Mine" called "Greatest Guitar Riffs of All Time"! Look for it tomorrow!

I am living off the success of "Walk This Way (Silly Walks)" and I'm already planning a soon-to-be successful followup:

I might do "Perfect Strangers" tpo the tune of Deep Purple's "Perfect Strangers" (It would be about the TV sitcom).

Anyway, I've plugged my parody, which is already being raved by everyone in our community. So I guess I can end this post and begin work on some more Monty Python-themed parodies.

All of the parodies I mentioned will be huge! :D

This week the Mexican Air Force reported to the international news media that they tracked a group of UFOs over Mexico and locked onto them with radar, proving them to be real solid objects.

Here is a link to the story:

http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/americas/05/11/mexico.ufos.ap/index.html

When I read this story, I couldn't help but think about Flaco Jimenez's and Peter Rowan's wonderful 70's tune "The Free Mexican Air Force", so I wrote a parody of it called "The Free Alien Air Force", which I just submitted for the next posting.

Part of what makes this parody so appropriate is the fact that the original song "The Free Mexican Air Force" is a humorous folk-song about marijuana smuggling, and in this real-life recent news event, the real Mexican Air Force jet that encountered the UFOs was on a routine anti-drug trafficking patrol in the skies over Mexico!

Here is a link to a webpage that has a free audio sample of "The Free Mexican Air Force":

And here is another free sample:

I just submitted a parody of "Starship" by the Jefferson Airplane on their special-project 1970 album "Blows Against The Empire".  My parody's title is "Spamshit".

The album "Blows Against The Empire" was a special project by Jefferson Airplane's Paul Kantner and Grace Slick, and it featured, in addition to Paul and Grace, other members of Jefferson Airplane, and also a number of other famous names from the psychedelic rock era of the 60's and 70's:  David Crosby, Graham Nash, Jerry Garcia, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann.

Lyrics to the original song "Starship" can be found at :

http://lyrics.duble.com/P/paulkantnerlyrics/paulkantnerstarshiplyrics.htm

Here is a webpage with Paul Kantner's own personal commentary on how "Blows Against The Empire" (the album "Starship" is from) came to be:

http://www.airplane.freeserve.co.uk/interviews/comments.htm

Here is a quote from "kireviewer" of Sunnyvale, Ca, United States, from the Amazon.com webpage for "Blows Against The Empire" :

"This is not really the Jefferson Starship. This is a project from Paul Kantner and Grace Slick, with the help of alot of friends, recorded during a break from the Jefferson Airplane, just after recording the album "Volunteers". Starship, which evolved from the Airplane, didn't really become an established group until four years later. This album more or less marked the end of the San Francisco psychedelic and political period of rock and roll. After this the Airplane went more pop, the Dead went country and everyone else just disappeared. In a way, it does lead into the British progressive period. This a concept album about hippies taking off in their starship and embarking on a voyage of love and peace. It may sound like a silly, dated concept now, but Kantner is such a strong song writer that the words and music still hold up."

I'm back with some really sharp-witted parodies.

First, I've got another S-E-N-D-U-P of Tammy Wynette's hit, "D-I-V-O-R-C-E," called "L-O-T-R is L-O-N-G" (Don't worry, the pacing is nearly flawless; I use the line "L-O-T-R's L-O-N-G" for pacing)

Next, (I haven't submitted it yet) I have a parody that is related to another actor named Astin (Sean Astin plays Sam). I have "Smells Like The Addams Family" to the tune of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana.

They are gonna be huge! :D

Haven't posted too much lately,  been re-tooling and looking for fresh parody material.  I realized today that I had not done any,  that's right, ZERO, ZIP, NADA, Jethro Tull songs yet.  So I figured I'd better correct that since they have such a huge song catalogue and happen to be one of my favorite groups.  I just submitted a parody to their original song, "Nothing Is Easy" called "Stomach Is Queasy".

I just submitted, for the next posting, my new parody of "Save Me" called "Somebody Shaved Me"......and then, after submitting "Somebody Shaved Me", I found Klarissa's parody "Shave Me".

Fortunately, our two parodies are very different - Klarissa's is about somebody who is extremely hirsute and who is asking for help shaving-off all their excess body hair, whereas mine is specifically about Michael Rosenbaum losing his hair to play Lex Luthor in "Smallville".

Nevertheless, I want to give credit where credit is due...Klarissa, good job on your parody - here is a link to Klarissa's parody "Shave Me":

I just released a new parody on SoundClick. It's a remake of my other friend's parody. I changed a few lines here and there and, in one case, an entire verse. It's called Backwards and it's a parody of Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin, poking fun at the backwards Satanic message in Stairway to Heaven.

Ok, this is just like any other parody you're thinking? Wrong again! Just for fun I recorded a few subliminal messages and played them backwards in the song to give you something really to hear when you play backwards. Oh, but it doesn't stop there....

Yes, it gets better! I've encoded a special backwards message into the lyrics of one verse. That's right, I chose my lyrics carefully so that when you listen backwards it really sounds like a backwards message just like in the real song!

I can't post the lyrics to the song on AmIRight since, technically, I didn't write it, I just changed 1/4 of the lines but if you're interested I can post the lyrics here including the lyrics to the special backwards message that I encoded.

You can download the song here. I appologize, SoundClick had to cut out the last few seconds of it. If you want the full version, hit me up on AIM or YIM or something.

Just a few minutes ago, my wife Mary and I finished watching the DVD of "Pirates of The Carribean: The Curse of The Black Pearl".  So you're an OB fan, eh?  That movie was pretty-much a perfect vehicle for him.  He's lucky he landed that gig.  And I got a good laugh from Jack Sparrow/Johnny Depp (the "other" Johnny D) telling Elizabeth that it would never have worked out between them...mm-hm.

Now, if I was put into that situation, I would probably break from Orlando Bloom (and his big, floppy hat)'s side and run after Johnny Depp, screaming, "It will too work out!  I'll make it work!"  But then...leaving the hatted one behind.  That's why I hated that movie - I couldn't ogle them both at the same time.  Oh, right, what was your question?  Well, he's not a great actor, but ain't he pretty?

I guess so, if you gals say so!   8)

I found so much of the movie to be unabashedly and hilariously romance-novel-ish ... especially the last line ... " He's a PIRATE! "  Aww, yes, he's a dashing young pirate who's comin' to steal your hearts, female (and perhaps some gay male) viewers!

But my own personal favorite parts of the movie were when every single pirate-cliche in the book was paraded across the screen!  Lots of sweaty & stanky hearties goin' "ARRRH! ARRRH!", a bad guy (Barbossa) who sounded like Long John Silver, and even a guy with a frickin' PARROT ON HIS SHOULDER!  ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH  !!!!!!

"Nights After A Hard Dog-Day's Night / Late Whimper", a parody of "Nights In White Satin / Late Lament" by The Moody Blues.

"Nights After A Hard Dog-Day's Night / Late Whimper" was inspired by MasonR's parody "A Hard Day's Knight In White Satin", which can be found at:

just submitted a parody of "Freebird" called "Sans-'Freebird' Skynyrd Concert", in which the band leaves the stage without playing "Freebird." It is based on a true story that happened last night when I watched a Skynyrd concert on TV, sans "Freebird," and I wasn't very happy about it.

It's gonna be huge, 'cause "Freebird" is a MUST at Lynyrd Skynyrd concerts! :D

For lack of a better song to parody, I used "Everytime" by Britney Spears as the model for my parody of the 1990s.

I didn't have enough verses to cover everything; I got in Ren & Stimpy, The Simpsons, Nirvana, Clinton, Ross Perot's third-party candidacy, Jurassic Park, Michael Fay, O.J., Home Improvement. and other things. The parody is called "I Love the 90s" to tie into the VH1 series that is airing this week.

It's gonna be huge, as will be the VH1 show! :D

I have been running out of good parody ideas, but I thought that the Amish would be perfect for a parody.

It's called "A Day in the Life of an Amish Farmer" and is my fifth parody of "Everytime" by Britney Spears. I guess Vh1's "A 2 Z" and Weird Al's "Amish Paradise" triggered this parody.

Trying something that's kind of a new thing for me here:  Using BTO's song "Let It Ride" for a parody based on the main premise of Merle Haggard's classic song "Mama Tried".  So where BTO's song goes "Ride, ride, ride, let it ride", my parody goes "Tried, tried, tried, Mama tried".  I think it's a pretty interesting piece.  Check it out...

Three Dog Night's song " Shambala " is a flower-power call-and-response spiritual, centering on Shambala, the terrestrial Pure Land of the Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhists.
