Subject: Which of your parodies would you most like to see made into a video?

Written By: philbo on 10/27/04 at 11:15 am

Sparked by a confluence of comments: MasonR's to Stuart McArthur's 99 Rubber Boobs and one of my own about my parody "Lubricated"...

So which parody (your own, or someone else's) would you most like to see as a video?

In my case, it'd have to be Lubricated - I've always had a feeling of how the video'd look, and when I'm singing along to it in the car, I can almost picture it all :)

The easy answer would be Boob Operation http://www.amiright.com/parody/80s/sade4.shtml , but since the post was based on a boob song, I'll go with Cross Eyed Girl http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/vanmorrison7.shtml

It would not be I've Got To Pee Now  ;D

I vote for my own "I've Broken A Bone Now."  It might be a bit bloody...but I've got the whole video in mind already... :)

Here's a SNL-style music video parody (not a video OF a parody) that I wrote:

http://home.onemain.com/~nospamtoday/unsolved.htm

If it has to be an Amiright parody, I'd go with:

http://www.amiright.com/parody/90s/sugarray7.shtml
"I Just Wanna Fly (Dammit!)"

I've made a video of my "Evacuation" parody of Elevation by U2. When Jeanne came through, it was too goood of an opportunity to pass up! :) I'd also kinda like to do a video of Umpteenth Schoolbus Breakdown, You Never Will Subpoena Me, and Yellow Snow. Don't Get Queasy has potential too.... ::)

The parody of mine that I would most like to see made into a video is:

"Vulcans Of Swing"

The runners-up are:

"Amish Aerobics"
"Dance Fishes Dance"
"Hung, See? Like The Bull"
"Librarians Want Silence"
"Tall Scary Heels And Leather"
"The Erection of Edmund Fitzgerald" (NC-17 Rated with Industrial Light And Magic CGI FX)

I have pictured now and then a video for "Pitiful Scum"("Comfortably Numb"), not inspired by the Pink Floyd The Wall movie...but with rows and rows of desks inhabited by zombie-like students, in eerie lighting...focus on one of the students (me) lip-syncing...literal actions described in the verses, slowly panning camera shot moves along rows to the song's tempo...a very scary looking Teacher played by a Mary Woronov or Ben Stein type character actor...chaotic paper fight ensues and the camera pans back and upward into the sky during the ending guitar solo and fadeout.

hmm... for a lot of my earlier ones, I pictured videos for them, but they were mostly just parodies of the actual video.  Id have to think which one woould be the best video, because my criteria for what makes a good music video has changed since then.  "Smooth Character" might still work in the way I pictured it, as might "Wh*re on the corner" or "Everyday A**holes"

In fact, "THat dont impress the Dutch" would definitly work

What was Rick D's parody with all of the naughty acrostics? That one needs to be government funded for the millions it deserves.
As for moi... my Spare Pants would be too like Weird Al's "Fat" which I had the pleasure of seeing a few weeks back at a friend's.

MY CHOICE: It'd be fun parodying all those film clips set in dance clubs.
"Epilepsy" http://www.amiright.com/parody/2000s/jkwon9.shtml

INTERESTING FILM CLIP: "Hellion's Trampoline"...that'd go down well with the 3-9 year old market.

I guess "Shooting a Drive-By would be a good choice, though possibly a bit strange with a camera being the main thing ON camera:
http://www.amiright.com/parody/80s/katrinaandthewaves2.shtml

So, I´ll go with "It´s gonna be a D-Cup today". With just two actors as the married couple and a supply of the Brittish paper "The Sun" it could be a really low budget thing that still featured more babes than an average David Lee Roth video:

I would like to have my song Training trip made into a video.
I can see it now, dressed up like characters from Ranma 1/2.

I had the idea of Legolas and Gimli doing my "Fairytale of Middle Earth" (Fairytale of New York) in a tavern somewhere, pint-pots in hand, which could possibly work as a video.

I think a video of "An Ode To Robocop" (Stuck In The Middle With You)  could be quite interesting (I have images in my head of Robocop doing the whole Michael Madsen thing with D_ick Jones in the chair)

I have very vivid images in mind of Doc Brown singing "Capacitor, Flux" (The Power Of Love), and also Tony Blair singing "Impeach Me?" (Release Me) at a press conference, but I don't think they would work as videos.

The one I'd really like to see done, though, is "Tricksy Little Hobbitses Have Stolen Our Precious" (Supercali..wotsits), by Gollum / Smeagol- I can quite easily picture him dancing around wildly, singing that whilst hunting for fish in the Forbidden Pool

Not necessarily as a video, but I'd love to see a "full cast" performance of my "A Hobbit's Tale" trilogy (I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major General), in one go.

Definitely 'Girl and Chimpanzee' -- I've had the preliminary storyboards in my head and the casting set before I even finished writing it.  It's definitely do-able.  Maybe this year if I get off my butt...

Thanks for bringing this one back to the front again... I'd forgotten about it, and there's some real fun ideas (especially "Vulcans of Swing"... that really appeals).

My daughter came up with a brilliant idea for one of mine, recently: filming "Phil Neville went down to Porsche" using Microstars and Scalextric.  Very tempting... just need to find one more Neville and a Fergie microstar :)

I would have to say "I pack on the pounds" http://www.amiright.com/parody/70s/judycollins4.shtml
Would probably be along the lines of Weird Al's "Fat" but would still be funny.  ;D

My "Ballad of Janet Jackson" parody was performed and, as part of the settlement, I received a copy of it.  When I found out about the performance, I was very anxious to watch it - I wasn't too happy with the product as the interpretation of the song was different than the intended meaning.

Hmm...picture AND words?...  Well, I know that my song "Attack of the Squirrels" is plenty graphic...

Does anybody want to record one of my songs?  I don't have the equipment neccessary.  I think that the squirrel song would be very interesting, as I just mentioned.  Just be sure to give me credit for writing!

This is a really cool, and intresting idea... And now with Dave's website it can be a reality, so let's see... Which parodies would I do a video for?

My video for The Unemployment Song (http://www.amiright.com/parody/90s/billyjoel5.shtml) would be a rapid-fire stock footage montage of the occupations listed in the song, with me sitting at a kitchen table lip-syncing the chorus, banging on the table with my hands. The last 4 lines would be me standing in an unemployment line, the camera panning back to reveal hundreds of versions of me (via CGI) awaiting news of a new job. Fade out.

I would like Gerald Scarfe to animate Plop!/The Nativity  (http://www.amiright.com/parody/70s/pinkfloyd191.shtml). To get an idea of what that would stem from, see The Trial sequence from The Wall movie at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCMHmDnfD6I (...warning, contains disturbing images)

(In fact, I have often fantasized about a full movie version of my Wall parody. Not gonna happen.  :D )

For the record, the "you" mentioned in the lyrics is my overweight Uncle Harold.

That being the case, I second the motion for Jeff Reuben's "A Bar Maid Fight."

But I'd have thought "I want some plastic surgery for Christmas" would make a pretty good one, too...

Here's some of mine I'd like to see:

1. I.M.V.U.
Could simply somehow video the computer while IMVU is on, then make that into a vid.
2. Someone, Could You Spare A Dime?
Could easily parody the original video. Instead of Britney and all these schoolgirls dancing aorund in a school, it oculd be a bum and all thes other bums dancing around in an alleyway!
3. No Good Bastards Inc.
Pretty much explains itself.
4. Decepticon Idiot
As in the whole thing, when it comes out.

Yeah, that's pretty much it.

doh .  .I won't ask about Uncle Harold. . .I wouldn't mind seeing a lot of music videos to a lot of the songs being mentioned myself. . .and being that I've recorded all mine, i want to make videos for all mine, of others the one's I'd really like to see include "Cross Eyed Girl" by JR, "Shopping with a Weapon in My Hand" by RC, "Don't Cha Wish Your Boyfriend Was Fat Like Me" by Silly Nelson Duncan, "Myspace Whore" by Exactly Midnight, "Someone Could You Spare Me a Dime" by TCOP, "Mime in Your Life" by Matthias and Every Red Ant, Stu McArthur, Spaff.com, Arwen and Phil Alexander song I've read/heard.

On Second thought, I guess just seeing videos to AmIRight songs would be cool. . .doesn't matter which ones, as long as it's not "The Caca Man" who's songs may be funny, but I would not want to see videos to them. . .the pictures are more than enough.

PS My best parodies for videos would have to be Like The Craft, Bowl It and Chubilicious, just the visions on those. . .not that they are my biggest chart performers, but the videos to them are no brainers.
