Subject: Albums

Written By: MooRocca on 06/02/05 at 6:55 pm

Can someone who's done an entire album share their album URL and maybe refresh my memory on what's involved in submitting an album?  I haven't written it, yet and I don't know when I'll get time to do it, but my muse has been whispering sweet nothings in my ear again, so I figured I'd get my eggs in a row, just in case.  :)

Hi MooRocca --- I'd be glad to help out.

Here's my album URL:

http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/thebeatles1028.shtml

It's really quite simple.  You use the regular parody-submission-form-page, but instead of putting lyrics in the submission box, you put a list of labelled URLs pointing to each parody you've previously posted for each song on the album.

Here's how I structured my "Roddenberry's Lonely Star Trek Fans (album)" submittal:

<a href="http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/thebeatles1009.shtml">Roddenberry's Lonely Star Trek Fans (read the top section)</a>
originally
"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"

<a href="http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/thebeatles1012.shtml">With A Little Help From Star Trek</a>
originally
"With A Little Help From My Friends"

....and so forth.... that's all there is to it !

P.S. --- Be sure to make frequent use of the "Preview" button to ensure it's formatted to your liking!

Thanks Johnny!!!!    I owe ya one!

I'll be perusing your album, later tonight (and I'll also double check to make sure I rated all of them, while I'm at it. :) )

Paul --- the cool thing about that particular album-posting technique is that you can do it anytime, even long after you posted all of your parodies of all of the album's original songs.  So why not go ahead and create a "CSN - The Thumb Album" album-posting?  You will be introducing a whole new population of readers to your CSN Thumb project in an easy-to-peruse format.

JD,

Actually, that occurred to me at the time...but I just wanted to see if anyone would ask...Makes me seem less pushy about it than I really am...

Thanks,
