Subject: Parody submission forms/scripts changed

Written By: ChuckyG on 07/15/05 at 2:20 pm

In order to reflect the way the parodies appear (styles, etc) I had to modify the submission forms and preview scripts.  I've tested it pretty well, but that doesn't mean I didn't screw up something still.

Looks nice and clean...have to see what happens when we submit, I guess...

While not a submission problem, I found a few busted authors links:

http://www.amiright.com/parody/90s/aliceinchains46.shtml

Was written by MegaMadMan:
http://www.amiright.com/parody/authors/megamadman.shtml

, but when clicking the author link on the parody listed takes you to Matthias. This parody is not listed under Matthias.

http://www.amiright.com/parody/authors/matthias.shtml

It seems all of MegaMadMan's parodies get redirected to Matthias.

This author isn't shown on the author's list because his name has different capitalization on the list:

http://www.amiright.com/parody/authors/andersonparodymanaraujo.shtml

John A. Barry also doesn't show up on the author list when clicking his name at the top of his parodies because there are 2 periods after the "A" on the list vs the 1 period he submits under.

Another caps problem preventing "2LD4U" from showing up on the author page when you click the name at the top of this parody. The "U" is lowercase on the authors page.

Thanks, Red Ant

Submitted a parody last night and it showed up today with no problems that I am aware of ( format, colors, fonts, etc. look fine ).

Red Ant

Edit: Under decades, I noticed "christian" there. Is this going to be a new "decade" or a new category for parodies?

no... I must have copied it from the misheard lyrics section by accident.  I'll fix that.

it seems like that feature worked fine until I decided to tweak the author script to disregard the capitalization and spacing issues that cause a large number of the name problems I end up dealing with.

I believe all those cases you cited are now fixed
