Subject: New parody submission page, AJAX enabled

Written By: ChuckyG on 11/16/05 at 12:05 pm

There's a new web technology that has everyone drooling at the moment.  It's called AJAX, it's bascially old stuff repackaged and sold to web developers (javascript, xml, etc).  I played around with it a little, so I can at least say I've tried it.

here's an attempt at making the submission page for parodies a little more interesting:

http://www.amiright.com/parody/submit_ajax.shtml

When you hit preview, the preview of the parody, appears below the preview button.

I probably won't replace the main submission page with it, but it's an idea of what might come along.  I've seen examples where every letter typed refreshes the preview screen as you go along.  I would do that, but I think the width of the screen to make it useful, would be much wider than most people keep their browser window.
