granted, one is to Spaff's site, but I'm sure it's on amiright too...
not sure I agree with the "poor taste" comment though

The one that the word "taste" links to is okay, but right beneath it there's a short "Mutton For Christmas" that's pretty funny. Fave line: "I ain't been nuttin' but baaaaaaaaad".

The timing may be just coincidence, but soon after that Metafilter post about "Nuttin' for Christmas" appeared (with links to a couple parodies on Amiright), Barry Gordon, the performer of the original, dropped by the site. Check out the comments here, Chucky:

Very cool to get feedback from Barry Gordon. I had the same initial reaction you did, but awesome that you were able to track him down.

That's really, really cool. Especially since the original was such a great song, for him to enjoy your parody (especially considering how many have been written over the years since), is a real big honor.
We should update the FAQ, with a Q/A like:
Q: "What do you think the original performers would think of the 'desecration' of their work"
A: "Well, at least one author has received positive feedback on their work"
I thought of this only because I came across one of those "you people have no talent" comments while reviewing the caption contests this morning. Some people just don't get the concept I guess.
