Subject: March 5, 2003

Written By: Spaff.com on 03/03/06 at 12:10 am

We are rapidly approaching the three-year anniversary of a day which will live in Amiright infamy forever: March 5, 2003. That day marks the first appearance of parodies by Merry & Pippin, Bob Gomez, and Claude Prez.

Yes, they all started on the same day. Really. Look it up.

What's even scarier is that all three (er, four) authors have stayed consistent - and consistently virtuoso - with their Amiright contributions. FOR THREE FREAKING YEARS.

Happy anniversary, men and, um, whatever.

Yeah!  Speech!  Speech!

Oh, wait.  I'm one of the culprits.

Believe it or not, I was actually thinking about this today.  March 3, 2003 (03/03/03) is the day I broke my ankle when I slipped on the ice while delivering mail.  It was a Monday.  That evening, knowing I'd be home from work for the next two months, I searched for parody-oriented sites because I wanted to get back to writing, a hobby I've had on and off for a while.  I wasn't looking particularly for a song parody site, but that's what I found.  I was so excited I could hardly wait to submit a song.  I didn't have any songs written, or any ideas for a song, but I wasn't about to let that stop me.  Ten minutes later, "Feel Like Shakin' Rugs" was submitted.  Three years later, I can definitely say that AmiRight is the most fun I've ever had on the internet, and that includes pornography.  I'm honored to share an anniversary with Bob, Merry and Pippin, who are among my all-time faves on the site.  Thanks to Chucky for bringing us all together, and all the other excellent writers on the site for making this a great place to be.  Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go look up which day in June 2003 Spaff first darkened our doorway.

Edited to say:  Ah, crap.  Turns out it was MAY 2003 when Spaff's "LPGA" song made its appearance.

:o :o :o  I knew it was back in 2003, early, but I didn't know we were in such esteemed company :)  Congratulations to Bob and Claude and Merry on our anniversaries  :D  May there be many more to come  :)

Four (authors) IS correct  ;)  As one out of the two of those four (if that makes sense) sometimes it has been hard.  Part of the problem of being in a duo is that you cannot control the other half's life (much as you may want to, heh heh  ;D)  Merry has had a rough trot lately and has put up with a lot of Pippin's incessant whining about "When are we doing the next one...?"  :)

I am sure Merry can make a further contribution when Merry sees this tomorrow...

Happy anniversary, men and, um, whatever.

For now it's whatever.  That may not remain that way for long, we will see what the next month or two brings  :)

Speech : "Thank you Spaff, for noticing, and noticing the link"  :)  "May all the parodists (word?) continue to thrive, not just those mentioned here.  All of us"  :) :) :)

Wow. March the 3rd. The day that inspired Claude to write parodies. Something else rings a bell on this day, not the exact day, just the date, what was it? Um...um...something...cool...um...er...that's it! It's me birthday! Yep, now the world knows, 3rd of March is also a day to celebrate when the_conqueror_of_parodies entered the world. By the way, thanks to a djjonathon who sent me a b-day PM. And, in case anyone cares, it was the 25th of March when I entered the parody world with Just Eat It. (sorry, no comments on the actual parody, but feel free to say what you think on this thread).

Congratulations all. I have a special soft spot for M&P, whose work I have been enjoying from day one  :)

Many thanks M&P, BG, and CP for all of the enjoyable reading you have provided us. Three years of sustained excellence is far better than most Presidents have been able to accomplish.

Wow! I had no idea that such an hour was upon us - I never kept track of the date. I do remember quite vividly writing our first parody, and I remember my reasons for writing that first parody, and dragging Pip along for the ride... but I digress....  ;)

Amazing that Claude and Bob started on the exact same day!  :o

Anyway, thank you Spaff for posting this and paying tribute to all four of us - it has been a fun 3 years.

Congrats to Bob and Claude and thank you to everyone who has voted, commented and encouraged us over the years! :)

As someone who has worked somewhere down the street from all of these notable contributers, congratulations and you all rock. I hope my lateness can be viewed as an extension of the time to celebrate.
