Subject: Question about whatfreaks.com

Written By: skittlesking on 12/17/06 at 12:17 am

The site has an "Adult Content" warning to enter, well--that is a concern to me. . .I want to go in, but I don't want any naked pictures on my computer-even in the history, however, I have no problem having adult content lyrics or sound files, as long as it's not pictures/videos. . .I conduct a lot of business from my home computer, and what I read or listen to is my business and it won't bother anyone, but if anyone I do business with finds in my history nudey pics-etc-that is a concern, so I guess my question for anyone who knows--what "Adult Content" is beyond that entry for the "Darker Side" of parodies. . .just sexual lyrics/songs or actual Adult Content as defined by Pornographic Ratings--XXX--such stuff. . .One is a problem-the other not so much.

"Sorry we're closed

The two biggest reasons for our closing?

1) I don't have the time to work on the site.

2) The Bush administration has been passing ever increasingily strict regulations about adult themed content on the Internet.
While whatfreaks never contained pornography, it did contain adult topics. Dirty words really anger social conservatives, and they'll do anything they can to stop people from saying them. Please note that I'm saying "social conservative" and not Republican or Democrat. Both political parties are full of nitwits that cry about this nonsense. "

That ^ there is all that remains of whatfreaks.com

Well, I will start another one in honor of free speech, by putting it on the front page as such, no Democrat or Republican can say anything or they will be trying to shut down free speech (I've hosted such a site in the past and it never had a problem, I just eventually lost interest because my financial situation became horrendous and I couldn't do it). . .If there is enough interest I'd be willing to make a site that is not "PG", but stops short of "XXX". . .for lyrics only of course. . .and songs too. . .Should I?  I know PHP, sounds like fun, and it could be all inclusive and have a grading scale as a parental advisory. . .that way it doesn't compete with the big Music Sites (Lyrics), Parental Controls (Advisories), Politics (Constitution on Front Page), or AmIRight (Will not be related in that this site will be about lyrics and freedom of speech, not just parodies, and it won't have as clean an image as AmIRight, so thus they don't compete). . .because I enjoy AmIRight, so I plan on staying in it regardless, just some of my parodies are slightly risque. . .so I can't post them here, although none of them are borderline pornographic, I totally respect why Chucky G and company want to keep it off, the intended audience is "General Public", mine wouldn't be--so in that manner I can supply info to both sites without offending anyone. . .

Oh--one more note--I don't want the site to be overly sexual, as in write a pornography and post it, but sexually accepting as in sexually theme parodies are ok, as long as they still fit the paramaters of a parody/song. . .anyhow. . .onward, it won't be for at least a few weeks-have to secure a domain name if I were to do it and then have to actually build it, I do all my sites from scratch.
