Subject: Christmas? maybe a Christmas themed book?

Written By: ChuckyG on 03/11/07 at 6:56 pm

it doesn't hurt to have more than one idea right?  so how about a Christmas Song book or something holiday themed?

probably be even funnier if we did a song book with a song for every "holiday" that occurs during the year... you know, Arbor Day, Speak Like a Pirate Day, etc...

if you have some Christmas parodies... how about pick the best five or less... I'll make a second book proposal while I still try and figure out the first one >grin<

Wow! A softball tossed right into my sweet spot.  http://www.inthe00s.com/smile/13/icon_santa.gif http://www.inthe00s.com/smile/13/icon_santa.gif  Christmas parodies are my specialty. Here are a few:

http://www.amiright.com/parody/80s/robertpalmer47.shtml - Addicted to Gifts
http://www.amiright.com/parody/misc/traditional939.shtml - Deck the House
http://www.amiright.com/parody/misc/traditional923.shtml - It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas
http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/brendalee3.shtml - Shopping Around the Internet

There's plenty more where those came from. And for good measure, here's a New Year parody:

http://www.amiright.com/parody/misc/robertburns3.shtml - The New Year Resolution Song

And an Independence Day parody:

I toot my horn for those tunes along with all of the others that were contributed to Decking The Hall, as written by the collective Crazy Diamonds.

What about a Calendar Book. A book of 365/366 parodies with one to read each day, and obviously, on some days, have themed ones, like halloween, xmas, easter, good friday, St Patricks days, st davids day, ninja day, pirate day, my Birthday etc.

I think we got an idea here.  Each author can pick a day to contribute to.

Christmas songs, eh?

Well, for the Hugh Grant fans, there's All I want for Christmas is Hugh

And for those with odd habits: Bought a gnome for Christmas

In the true Christmas spirit, there's Cashing in on Christmas, understand? (or even Have yourself a Pagan sort of Christmas

Or one in the chocoholic spirit of Christmas; or the Scroogeian spirit: I hate Christmas Time... or the alcoholic spirit... which follows on to Thank God it isn't Christmas every day

...and to finish off, An amiright Christmas carol.  I'm sure there's more, but they were the ones that sprang to mind.

I've looked everywhere and not a Xmas parody to be seen - and then not a holiday parody of any description (mime day, even)

what a gaping hole in my subject matter

The book cover popped into my head this morning.

Top of the cover: "Let's All Go A-Parodying"

Middle: A group of carolers singing. A couple is standing in the doorway of their house, listening with looks of shock and horror on their faces.

Bottom: Making fun of Christmas, one song at a time. From the parodists of AmIRight.com.
