The only things that popped on mine(I typed my name with the phrase "song parodies") is my author page and one of my parodies from it.

Try Googling the titles of some of your parodies that have gotten lots of votes and/or have been posted for a long time.

Okay, I did Catgirl Love, which got me only the sources.

I'll try a few others, alot of my parodies are very specialized, so I don't know what to expect.

I can't, too many porn sites come up with mine

Chubilicious, Weenie on a Hot Bun, Vampire's Theme and Don't Speak are all on porn sites. . .I don't really understand why, but they are

meanwhile...

"Did you mean: "mykl word"

No standard web pages containing all your search terms were found.

Your search - "mykl woard" - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:

    * Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
    * Try different keywords.
    * Try more general keywords."

well, that's odd.

My parodies seem to show up all over the place...

There's even some thieving Scotsman posting my parodies as though they were his own on the Scotsman newspaper site (for example, this one).  I only spotted that when looking for N-Dimensional Space (so to speak)

Bible-bound Creationist shows up a few times (including by the Scots plagiarist)

As does The Genome Song.  But my favourite ego-google at the moment has to be this one:

"What is your favourite song parody?" on answerbag.com

Or somebody (**** knows who) has taken it upon themselves to record my "Battle Hymn of the Atheist" (without attribution, but I'll forgive 'em that), in wonderfully twee sound: http://www.fileupyours.com/files/65352/Humanist/fairystory.html
It's playing in the background as I type this ;)

You are awfully nice, I'd be very upset if someone recorded one of my parodies without asking especially since I record my own parodies.

I found "Battle Hymn of the Darwin Awards" on a messageboard. I was a bit disappointed that no link was given to amiright, but I was credited and, aside from the person that posted it, two people really liked it.

"Tender Asian Boob" was found on this blog. So much for my ego getting stroked there: "Someone's got a lot of free time n has an idle mind :-D"

At least he wasn't claiming to have written it, and did leave a link back to the parody.

Considering the title, I'm surprised it wasn't buried under 43 million porn sites.

I saw "No Sound of Violence (Sniper Story)" on a few pages shortly after I posted that parody, but it only shows on Amiright now.

This was slightly irritating... 4 pages of the same article. The poster "Scaramoush" didn't credit me for writing "The Cigarettes", and looks like he is trying to pass of my work as his own. I think that's the same site Phil linked.

Here's that same dude pawning off my "Typo-Master" G&S parody as his own work.

Ken S writes: "Your heart was obviously in that one :-)
As someone whose Dad sang G & S, all I can say is absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!"

Thanks, Ken.  ;)

Part of that same parody was quoted and attributed here.

Oh well, at least my definition of Rhymitis was listed first.  :D

The little scots scumbag did the same to my "Farewell Allah, hello Buddha".... here. Is there anything we can do to alert the good readers of www.scotsman.com that this guy is a thief? (Or am I making entirely too much out of the situation?) I'd be interested to know what you all think.

I was going to leave a comment, but the threads I viewed were already closed for commenting. I'm tempted to email the owner and inform him, but I think it would be much more satisfying to pwn that guy in the comment thread on the next article posted.

Bottom line is he isn't crediting any of us, and while he's not directly saying "Hey, I wrote these parodies", he's lying by omission - people there (and here) are going to assume he wrote them.

He's done the same to Phil, to me twice, and you. He obviously knows he's stealing.

OTOH, I'd probably be more aggrivated if he reposted one of my crappier parodies, credited it to me and like 900 blog people said it sucked.

Is there a list of what he's done??  I don't think he's targetted me as I do record mine, I tend to be ommitted from plagarism, but my recordings have been used for commercial purposes without my permission--but I guess I haven't minded since from what I've seen--I have been credited each time. . .but I want to make sure I haven't been hit by this guy. . .

Search for "Scaramouche" on these 4 links:

http://edinburghnews.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=396472007 (Phil's "Nigerian Spam")

http://news.scotsman.com/uk.cfm?id=367162007 (my parody "The Cigarettes")

http://thescotsman.scotsman.com/index.cfm?id=387432007 (my parody "I am the Very Master of All Errors Typographical")

http://thescotsman.scotsman.com/international.cfm?id=436542007 (Kristof's "Hello Allah, Farewell Buddha")

That's just what we've found so far...

Hey Kristof, would a group parody of this guy be going too far? I was thinking "Plagiarism Rhapsody" to Bo Rhap - his name is a perfect sub:

"Scaramouche - what a douche!
'cause he's fake and steals songs, doh!"

Hmm... I seem a bit rusty...

or...
Scaramouche - what a douche - ill rude dude whose spam rankles !!

I like your first line better. Thanks Johnny, I knew you couldn't resist a Bo Rhap.  ;)

And since I'm terribly bored at the moment (always a bad idea to state that when writing a parody, but wtf...), here's an intro:

What is with this guy?
Showed us no courtesies
Took all our grand rhymes
But he claims he writes parodies!
Opened our eyes
That some plagiarize - oh geez...!

Run with it!  ;D

As fun as that would be, Jack...I've had more direct success. I registered with thescotsman.com, reported the "Farewell Allah" post and....VOILA! it was removed post haste. I'll do the same for the others. If anyone comes across any more examples of this jerk's thievery, PM me and I'll take action (only after you flame him, of course...;-))

I don't see much point in getting individual posts removed once the thread is closed: everybody else is going to be thinking that he's the best parody author in the world 'cause they've not seen the posts go.

I've contacted the webmaster to let them know he's doing this, but seeing as there doesn't seem to be a central forum, only comments on articles (which close extremely quickly), it seems to me that the only way to let it be known that he's a thief and a plagiarist is to spot one as soon as he posts it and jump in asap.

You are awfully nice, I'd be very upset if someone recorded one of my parodies without asking especially since I record my own parodies.

I'd only be upset if I found they'd been making money from it...

Since the guy obviously visits here a lot I reckon some sort of 'tribute' parody might work.

I was thinking along the lines of a "Roomful of Monkeys" M-G parody, with any ripped-off authors mentioning a line or two.  Then once posted here, we stick it on the Scotsman website...

Scaramouche: the model of a worthless thieving plagiarist
He said my "Genome Song" was his, and "Bible-Bound Creationist"
It seems that he purports to be a bard so good he's out of sight
But all or most of what he posts he's found over at amiright

..anybody else want to add their own?

You might wish to add a " He's " to the front of your first line, Philbo.

He's very well acquainted too with social insecurity
He stole "Tights I'm Quite Fat In" 'cause he's soaked in immaturity
About shy lonely (ill) nerdiness he's teeming with a lot of news
With many tearful facts about the scare he gets from potty-use

With many tearful facts about the scare he gets from potty-use
With many tearful facts about the scare he gets from potty-use
With many tearful facts about the scare he gets from potty-potty-use

The word " ill " is optional, as the original word " binomial ", which I replaced with " shy lonely (ill) ", can be sung as either three or four syllables.

So, if you sing "binomial" as "bi-nom-yill", use "shy lonely" ... if you sing "binomial" as "bi-nom-ee-yill", use "shy lonely ill".

;D

Brief update on the Scotsman plagiarist:

http://business.scotsman.com/media.cfm?id=529752007

Sadly since Phil A posted him as a plagiarist getting all his material from amiright.com he has become reclusive.

;)

Though not everyone seems to see it that way... according to the "Boy Wonder" in post #25:
If you look at that website as I did, everyone's plagiarising
...he can't tell the difference 'tween parody and plagiarism.  Twat.

I googled "Shopping With a Weapon in My Hand" and got this newspaper article from Scotland:

http://business.scotsman.com/topics.cfm?tid=49&id=367542007

My parody is in the comments section after the article. Someone named "Scaramouche" allegedly called and dictated my parody to the newspaper. They credit the writers of the OS but, not me or Amiright. There are a couple of lines that have been changed but, it's 98% verbatim.

After the parody, someone commented that "Scaramouche" should record these. I tried to send a response that I had already written and recorded it and, would love to hear a version by "Scaramouche" but, comments for the article had already closed.

Yep, that's the Scottish plagiarist alright (it was his wife who posted that, in theory)... though after dropping a load of "he didn't write that, you know" sort of comments, he's vanished... reportedly in hospital, but probably just keeping a low profile.

It's a bit of a pain that the scotsman articles' comments close so quickly, so that once it hits google, the comments have closed.  But I believe we'll not be getting ripped off by that wee bonnie Scot again ;)
