Subject: Great profile-raiser, or cheap way of filling a TV slot?
Written By: philbo on 09/17/07 at 12:27 pm
Has anyone else here had this through as an email?
Hi Phil!
We discovered your interest in musical parodies & are contacting you to
inform you of an upcoming programming opportunity with Wierd Al.
Do you have what it takes to impersonate or parody your favorite
celebrity or music artist? Send a video of your impression or parody
and Weird Al Yankovic may watch and judge it when he is the guest on ABC
News Now's "What's the Buzz?" on Thursday, September 20th!
OR
Do you have a question that you'd like to personally ask Weird All?
Record yourself and send it in!
Do you own a digital camera? Most cameras have a video function that
allows the user to record 30 second-1 minute videos. Once recorded, you
can upload the video to your computer the same way you'd view digital
snapshots!
Send us your video questions and ABC News Now may include it in their
interview!
HOW TO SUBMIT VIDEOS:
1) Via cell phone
Record a 15-45 second clip and email it to: icaught@abcnews.go.com
2) Via the web:
http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/TalkBack/story?id=3602974
We look forward to hearing from you & thanks again for your
participation. Should you have any questions about this project, email
us back.
We look forward to hearing from you!

...what's ABC Talk Back like, anyway?

I haven't gotten one. No idea about the show... I don't think I've ever seen it.
Jeez, they are really cutting the time close. You'd only have two days to get in a video - I doubt they are reviewing material on the day the show airs.

I have to agree--two days? Sound like poor planning to me, I checked my junk mail---it was in there, I discarded it, I couldn't possibly get something together in such a short time.

Never heard of it myself.
My vibes are telling me it could be spam... Of course, that's only a probably.

"wierd al"? Quite the professional advertising effort. I didn't get one, not that it would have mattered.
Although I suppose it's good that they're taking some sort of an interest in parodies at ABC.
