Subject: Post songs ya want me to read here

Written By: 2nz on 11/29/07 at 11:06 pm

Hey you all. I've been out of the woods of Vermont for several months now, but I haven't written anything so I haven't been around to read much of anything. It's just over four years since I started posting here and I got a lot out of writing and submitting on amiright.com because of the feedback that I received and the friends that I made. As such, and because like many before and after me I am a lazy, no-commenting bum, I thought I'd open up this thread (comma) for you(period) Post links to anything you want me to read and I'll try to read it as soon as I have time. Also feel free to just say hey or let me know how much I've been missing these past couple of months. Cheers, y'all.

Hey, welcome back around, Glen. Good to see you in this part of the woods. Belated congratulations on your four year anniversary.

Hey 2nz, Um. . .actually, can you do that for me?  You weren't really here when I started at this site, in fact you left when I came on.

As for mine, I'll let you know what I think would be your style, when I get an idea what you want to see:)

Thanks for letting us know where you've been, Glen.  For a guy with a bachelor's degree in Cinema and Cultural Studies (yes, I looked up the VYCC web site - good picture), you've had some pretty wild outdoor jobs.  Just out of curiosity, do you have a preference for the woods of Vermont or the mountains of Montana?

Done and done. Nice production value on the recording. Everything sounded clear, the guitar was crisp and meshed well with the vocals, and solid lyrics. The weakest aspect was the singing itself. There was some struggling to find the proper tone or change according the OS. In all fairness, you can listen to any one of performances and hear that. That's why I like live performances, the fact that your standing there doing it live distracts from many voice inconsistencies. Keep recording, man.

And hey, serious congratulations on reaching 300 parodies. THat's a hell of a milestone. I've been working on 100 since I got here.

Right on. I'm into video games and the outdoors, among other things. Also some sci-fi. I'll try to invest some time over winter break checking out your whole song list, but give me a couple of your top recommendations when you have a chance. Your parody page has many recordings posted. Looks impressive. Feel free to recommend some of your preferred recordings too.

Hello Phillip. Nice Armada.
Good to see you still around these parts, JJ. I'd lean more towards the expansive 'Rocky-Mountain'-ness of Montana because it's a new mountain range formed by immense tectonic action which shows in how grand and awesome it is. But I also have a soft spot in my heart now for the green, rolling, subtle beauty of Vermont mountains.

What have you been up to?

Thanks for the honest feedback, Glen, it's much appreciated. I have done this live once already... let's say the recording came out better. I have to admit to not being intimately familiar with the OS, nor did I want to duplicate the tone exactly. In all fairness, I'm recovering from gonorrhea as well. How that affects vocals, I don't know.

Oh, congratulations to you as well for making the big 7 club. 25 people have made 300+ parodies, only 6 or so have done those 7 songs.

Elmer's New Gwoove!
Thanks for the response.  I, too, appreciate the beauty and ruggedness of the Rockies (and the California Sierra Nevadas), but I would like to see Vermont some day.

Hey, I'm not a bachelor (I have been happily married for 28 years), so I don't do all of the fun things that you young guys do.  So, when you ask what I've been up to (and thanks for asking), I just try not to get into too much trouble.
