Subject: Over-obvious title subs

Written By: philbo on 01/03/08 at 6:15 am

After seeing this rendition of "Cocaine" as "Rogaine", I was tempted to see how many others had tried the same thing... turns out there are ten in all.

So I tried the same thing with "Constipated", and what do you know - 22

Can anybody thing of any others that have been done and redone so unoriginally?

Cocaine/Rogaine

Complicated/Constipated

There's a few that are nearly there for "Yesterday" -
Scrambled  Egg(s) - 8
Vote for me - 7 (all k1chyd, anyway... so I don't think that should count)

and...

Yesterday  (with one or two variants) - 17, seven of which are from the same theme by Ravyn Rant

Any other suggestions?

With "American Idiot", simply change the country of origin and you got the makings of a brand-new, funny as hell parody. Or maybe not.  ???

I see what you mean

There's German, Canadian (x5), Iranian and Iraqi, Mexican, Muslim (not a country, but the idea's the same) (x2), Californian (ditto), Great Britain/ish and Mongolian... and three more Americans.

It really is no surprise that Weird Al's "Canadian Idiot" on Straight Outta Lynwood is one of his weaker parodies.

It's not one of my favs either. But I'd listen to it over songs like Hollaback Girl and Wind It Up. :D

Daniel Powter's Bad Day has spawned 7 Bad Dates, 2 Fat Dates, 1 Blind Date and 1 Mad Date (which is mine  :P)....still, I can console myself that I was the first Date on the site!

Well, now we know why Daniel Powter had a bad day, he had 7 bad dates, 2 fat dates, a blind date and a irate date in the same day. . .I mean that sound pretty bad to me. . .

Yeah, he also had a BJ... so maybe it wasn't such a bad day, after all ;-)

But that was starting to sound like a "12 days of Christmas" parody...

Unless it was from the 'irate date'

and Matthias---I don't think a drunk dude in a frat house would make his day any better--then again, he just might swing both ways. . .so is that where the BJ came from?

Strangely enough, there's 95 parodies where the word "Heart" has been replaced by "Fart" in the title.  "Blowing in the wind"...

What about all the "Cheney's Got A Gun" parodies that sprang up in early '06?

I found one that tops "Constipated" for "Complicated"

Numb by Linkin Park has 23 "Dumb" entries.

Are any of those "Dumb" entries "smart"? ;)
