And since I lost intrest in working on Matthiastyx (I still plan on parodying "Come Sail Away"), but since I didn't really have any ambition in doing that, and me and Agrimorfee are both fans of Mr. Bungle... Folks, if you are not familiar with Mr. Bungle, you should be.  :D

You may know the lead singer, Mike Patton, in his work with Faith No More in the late 80s and 90s, or as a guest vocal for Lovage and with Bjork. This band as a whole breaks all rules and conventions of what a rock record should sound like. This is not friendly stuff...they are out to scare you into a whole new way of thinking about what constitutes rock music, and, perhaps what constitutes music itself. Sadly, for various reasons, they broke up after 3 albums, but similar work from all of the members continues to hit the stores and the Internet now and then.

The sound? Oingo Boingo, experimental, Italian movie soundtracks, circus/carnival music, gypsy rock, psychedelic, thrash, polka, surf/Beach Boys, doo-wop, disco, and more...often within THE SAME SONG.

California is, on the whole, the most accessible of their albums...go from there.

Sorry, but the videos for Mr. Bungle are few and far between, often poorly recorded bootlegs from fans.  :(

Mr. Bungle could never be relied upon to do an album in the normal way. Hence, there are 2 untitled tracks on the CD, one of which is referred to as "The Secret Song" because band member Trevor Dunn wasn't told about it until late into the recording, and it is therefore 1/2 of Track 3. The second one is somewhere after Track 12, which is basically the band effing around in the studio.

In any case, the green items above are full blown instrumentals that have no lyrical content whatsoever. The red items, however, are items where there are indeed lyrics, of a sort, but they are either repetitive chants, semi-ad libbed skat singing, or dialogue completely in the Italian language. Matthias and I are trying to be completists in our Bunglepalooza, but these red items are quite difficult to parody, and as such, I wouldn't be angry or disappointed if these tracks never get completed. By all means, be our guests in trying to parody these, but, y'know, we are putting ourselves through enough torture to try to finish the half-way normal songs, let alone the really bizarre stuff!
