Subject: Making videos of your parody storylines

Written By: Stuart McArthur on 10/28/08 at 11:06 pm

Here's a new game, thrillseekers...

Take one of your old parodies and turn the storyline into a short film.
Recording parodies has now become de rigeur, so why not move on to a new frontier - short films

oh, I'm glad you asked - why yes, I have actually done one myself

I've taken this parody...
I Am Getting Too Handsome

and turned it into THIS film...
I The Beholder

"99 Rubber Boobs" or "McArthur's Fart" next

Wouldn't the logical next step be to record music videos if you already have access to film creating types?

not just any guy, Emi - I'm overtaking George Clooney as I type

it'll be Brad Pitt next, and then way up ahead, almost out of sight...........Michael Douglas

yes, and then the logical next step after THAT is to make a short film

(I just like to keep 2 logical next steps ahead 8))

btw, you can probably tell there were no film-creating types used in my half-baked attempt - just a sony camcorder, my wife and kids, and my neighbours - all shot in one day

What fun to see Stuart (and the whole McArthur fan) in action. You are indeed more handsome than I remembered.

thanks for the look and the youtube votes spaff (my first and only), although having just come from the Robert Lund video I'm ashamed by the quality of my product (not to mention the act*ng)

and the theme of both our movieclips means the zeitgeist is well and truly alive and kicking ;)

Wow Stu...what great fun. There's nothing like a family project...talk about home schooling.. And, it's nice to meet the McArthur clan.

I think this is a great idea. One of my daughters is a film major in college. I tried to get her interested in doing a music video of one of my parodies. The problem is...she doesn't think they are funny. ( I think they embarrass her)

I've done a lot of video production, but it's been promo videos for Boston area bands that are going for the wedding/function market.

Like these:

Anyway...thanks for the inspiration.

Despite the revelation that Stu is a guy, I really enjoyed this.  I'm anxiously awaiting 99 Rubber Boobs.  I offer my man-boobs to the cause.
