Just a quick question here; I know that GOP stands for Grand Old Party and that it is a traditional nickname for the Republican Party, but how is it pronounced?

Letter by letter; gee-ooh-pee?

Or is it OK to use it so that it rhymes with top/flop - gop?

The common pronunciation is gee-oh-pee.
