Please post here if you'd like your work included in this thread (OR PM me if you want your work removed, or NOT POSTED). I've included work from several authors who's LOTR work I have already seen over the years, but who I don't see on the threads much. If you want your work added, please post links to everything, and try to do it in a format that I can easily cut/paste and add it to the initial post. Thanks.

INITIAL PERSONAL GOAL: Parody each song in the BIG 7, and make sure the subject of the parody appears in THE HOBBIT.
Deadline for Personal Goal:: Indefinitely stalled :c). 3 songs (BoRap, AmPie and BOG) left. I'll post here if/when inspiration strikes.

A few years ago... Probably one of the first contests I ever ran was called "Lord of the Dance" and was a combined effort of a bunch of musical showtunes all about scene depicted in Lord of the Rings. Now that the Hobbit is approaching I think it would be pretty cool to take another crack at that.

Never read lotr, but I love the films (and The Hobbit cartoon from the 70s). I might contribute.

Slight bump as I updated my personal goal. Glad to hear from you Matt and Agri. Bring it on. And by that I mean post some of your existing work (or plans for new work). No rush, but I'm getting excited about this.

Sweet buggers, sorry I haven't checked this in a while Matty. You're all added in. Better late than never I hope.

Since completing song 4 of my personal challenge, I've felt uninspired to tackle the remaining 3. If anyone has ideas for the remaining BIG 7 (BE OUR GUEST, AMERICAN PIE, and BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY), feel free to post here, I'm always up for suggestions. If nothing else, I'll extend my personal deadline a bit so I can see the 1st movie and incorporate what are sure to be some fun moments from it into these remaining three.

I'm feeling especially uninspired for BE OUR GUEST, as anytime I think about it I start strategizing for my 'ITS A TRAP' entry that should be posted and added to Matts excellent STAR WARS project in the next week or so. We'll see :c).

"Be Our Guest" might serve well as "Be Our Host", to illustrate how the dwarves & Gandalf invade Bilbo's quiet and quaint home lifestyle... and his dinner plates/forks/etc.

I've done a few LOTR parodies.. one of which even got recorded (I'm quite pleased with the recording, tbh)

I might have missed some, but:
Frodo and Sam
Go Strider, orcs must die
My Preciousss lies over Eregion
Isengardian Orcs
Ring Questing
Saruman
Remember Hobbiton
Gandalf the Grey-robed Wizard
The Splitting of the Fellowship
The Baggins who carries The Ring
Sod it, Hobbit

..and Dad, Peregrin, sort of a Star Wars/LOTR crossover.  Don't know if you're wanting that sort of thing :)

Last one in 2007?  Can't be right.. have to finish my "There's a Wizard in Hobbiton" Rivers of Babylon parody.

I'd like to add two of my own to the list:

'An Orc is an Orc', parody of Mr Ed TV theme 'A Horse is a Horse', performed by Sheldon Allman
http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/sheldonallman0.shtml

'Radagast', parody of 'Camelot', from the eponymous movie musical, performed by Richard Harris
http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/camelotsoundtrackrichardharris0.shtml

I have no immediate plans to produce any more, but who knows?

Anybody visiting the main parody board lately will know that Wendy Christopher is doing a series of a kind of 'Lord of the Rings for idiots' using boy bands and contemporary pop to appeal to the teenaged 'attention-challenged'. She's completed five so far, starting just this year, and they are being well-received. Just drawing your attention to them. I guess it's up to her if she wants to add them here.

Yaaay! I found the thread! I'm slowly getting better at navigating myself around this interwebby thing  ;D

(This is Wendy Christopher, by the way - I don't know, the alias must have seemed like a good idea at the time, but I realise now it's a bit confusing... sorry about that!)

I now have quite a collection of parodies under my belt for my 'LOTR:OMG!' project - eventually to become a kind of 'Lord of the Rings for the Youtube Generation' musical. These are the ones I've done so far - and there'll be more to follow, since I've only covered about half the full story yet...

All Obey Me (parody of Carly Rae Jepson's 'Call Me Maybe')
http://www.amiright.com/parody/2010s/carlyraejepson2.shtml

One Ring (parody of One Direction's 'One Thing')

Not The Wizard That I Used To Know (parody of Gotye's 'Somebody That I Used To Know')

Black Riders Are A Pain (parody of Adele's 'Set Fire To The Rain')
http://www.amiright.com/parody/2010s/adele12.shtml

Elven Archer (parody of Olly Mur's and Flo Rida's 'Troublemaker')
http://www.amiright.com/parody/2010s/ollymursandflorida0.shtml

Peep Into Your Water-Bowl (parody of Labrinth's and Emelie Sande's 'Beneath Your Beautiful')

Aragorn (parody of Maroon 5's 'Payphone')
http://www.amiright.com/parody/2010s/maroon54.shtml

In Peril (parody of One Direction's 'What Makes You Beautiful')
http://www.amiright.com/parody/2010s/onedirection6.shtml

We Are Never Ever Getting Back The Precious (parody of Taylor Swift's 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together')

Go To War This Way (parody of Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way')
http://www.amiright.com/parody/2010s/ladygaga134.shtml

That's it for now... more coming soon...

Orcs of Mordor (parody of John Oxenford's version of Men of Harlech)
http://www.amiright.com/parody/misc/johnoxenford0.shtml

I was singing that one through, when it started to feel familiar.. realized that I had read it a long, long time ago :)

Interestingly enough, there are still only two Men of Harlech parodies on amiright, the second one being Men of Gondor, by Susanna Viljanen.. so both LOTR but from opposite sides :)

Bump to include two authors, Agrimorfee and Arwen.

Agri recently wrote his first LOTR/Hobbit parody, which makes me happy and deserves celebration.

And even though Arwen hasn't commented here yet, her work has been added by one of her fans :c]. It's partially to honor her long list of songs, and partially to celebrate her winning AOTY 2012.
