My my my, this is a tough choice. I really love three songs that I've done in April. But, I guess I'm going to have to go with "Watchin' that Fox News." http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/johnnycash24.shtml

I'm going with a parody to "Battle of New Orleans" - "Air Trip Woes".  The midi to that song is listed at the top of  my parody.

Yes indeed Rick, I won Ethan's weekly ABC "B" contest, so I decided to enter the same song in Claude's April monthly contest --- it's my favorite April parody, so that's the one I decided to enter.

Dang... I only wrote one parody last month, and it wasn't even all that great. Still good enough that I might as well enter it, though. http://www.amiright.com/parody/90s/madonna21.shtml
Original up until the end of the contest at: http://www3.hmc.edu/~afield/Madonna_-_Beautiful_Stranger.mp3

I suppose I can take down Money for Nothing now, too.

April's been a rather poor month for me, parody-wise (plenty of ideas, just no time to complete them... must be because of all the time I've spent reading & replying to the comments on my religious parodies).  I'm going to go with this one because it's less in-your-face than my other one in the same line (and Orthanc Fights didn't quite do it for me):

"Should I Pray 'Cause You Should Know"
http://www.amiright.com/parody/70s/theundertones1.shtml

(which should really be The Clash, but we all make mistakes)

Just want to mention that I'm glad Johnny chose the song he did; in addition to being a fun way to exchange feedback, this contest is also supposed to (sort of) decide the best AmiRight song of the month; I encourage everyone to choose what they feel is their best song.  Also, if you know of any songs from April that you didn't write but think should be in the contest, feel free to encourage the author to enter if he/she isn't a regular participant.  I thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Are you saying that only songs from this year in this month (April 2004) are eligible?

~~On the eighth day of the month, entries close and voting begins.

What if we happen to write a very good one after the 8th, which is more likely to happen with authors who don't write too many?

Only songs from April 2004 are eligible.  Any songs from April 2004 are eligible.  The 8th in this case is the 8th of May, when whatever song from April you've chosen should be entered.  On May 8th, we begin voting so entries will have to close.  We could extend the entry period (theoretically), but it would still have to be a song that first appeared at AmiRight between April 1st and April 30th.  Any rebroadcast, reproduction, or retransmission of this explanation without the express written consent of Major League Baseball is strictly prohibited.

Unless I'm mistaken, Agri voted in the ABC "C" contest.  Voting for the SOTM contest always begins on the eighth.

I may be confusing Paul because of my off-handed remark above about Johnny's "Blow The Nation's Nose" entry, a work that swept the "B" Round, which I think will do the same for SOTM April.  Let the record stand that I have not officially voted yet (but my vote leans heavily towards it already).

Sorry for having voted early, yet not often, in the "C" Round.  ;D I got confused.

Agrimorfee:  Wow!  Talk about confusion!  Actually, the remark was one I picked up when I answered MAD Mari D's remark.  So it was HER remark, not mine...then I saw YOUR comment saying you might be confusing ME and I thought, "What the hell is HE talking about?" - and then I went back to my last comment and saw Mari's remark.  So...To Recap:   I WASN"T CONFUSED at FIRST, but then I saw your remark and BECAME confused myself until I realized it was YOU who were being confused into thinking I was confused, when in reality it was MARI who was confused.  There...that ought to clear it up...Unless I've confused someone else with this comment...I love this stuff...

So, Agri, you are confused because I was confused and not Paul who was confused and that is true because I was confused but not completely by what you said but by my interpretation of what you said instead of what you really said but that was exacerbated by the confusion over your confusion and Paul's confusion, the cause of which was my confusion, so I have created a veritable ball of confusion or perhaps you have overindulged at the Greek Taverna, Paul's is not long enough, or I have sheep for brains and this has gone on long enough.  Hey, you started it.  No, I started it.  No, it's a Mobius strip.  Wheeee! :D
