Is there any reason why you couldn't just have co-winners, in that case?  Or you could ask people who didn't vote for either entry to break the tie, or even bring in people who didn't vote at all.

Ethan, I think you should just announce the ties. I was thrilled to be tied with Earl on the first one Claude ran. If they tie, they deserve to. But maybe that only counts as half a win, and you should be done at 2 or 2.5 wins, whichever comes first. Whatever you decide.

Yeah, ties should be OK.  I mean, it's not like there is some jewel-studded WWF belt that someone gets to wear that can't be divided.

I too second the motion to allow ties...maybe everybody who ties could then be given a challenge like that "Desolation Row" parody challenge that Tim Hall presented to everyone awhile back, and then after they post their parodies in response to the challenge, a panel of judges would confer and decide....or something like that?

i think this extra challenge thing might be a good idea... we could have the finals format of parody survivor ( each person picks a band and a topic and one person's band is matched with the other's topic and they each have to write both songs) if it happens fairly early in the contest and something a little simpler if it is really close to the end of the alphabet

Well, whilst I wouldn't agree with such a concept, if it were to happen then you would have to ensure that the parties involved were given sufficient time.

I don't know what everyone else's schedule is, but at present, I am having trouble finding enough time to to do all the things I want to solely in regard to parodies, let along other parts of the net I visit and heaven forbid, my work and my family life.

So it would be very difficult to be placed in a situation where all of a sudden there was a timeframe where I *had* to come up with something.  It could end up simply not do-able.....  :(

Really simple, just do a week-long elimination vote between the tied contestants by all participants.

Yeah, I agree there. Just have everyone in the current contest vote only between the tied entries.
