In a tightly-contested month filled with Amiright Tributes, Overrated Rappers, Penis Obsessions and Julie Andrews wannabees, here we go:

3 pts. Phil Alexander (move that biddy, baby!)

2 pts. Johnny D (Richard Rodgers is rolling in his grave!)

1 pt. Jake (for a neat puzzle to enjoy!)

Subject: Re: May SOTM Voting

Written By: Rick D on 06/09/04 at 5:56 pm

3 points to 2nz for "Why Women Need Men"
2 to Claude for "a Bear Named Pooh"
1 to Mer and Pip for "Peeled at a Bris"

and an honorable mention to Jake for "Dyslexic"

Rick D, you have excellent taste...truly a serendipitously synchronicitous coinciding of our twisted brainwaves...

3 points to 2nz for "The Reasons Why Women Need Men"

2 points to Claude for “A Bear Named Pooh”

1 point to the Furry-Footed-Twosome for "Peeled at a Bris"

Subject: Re: May SOTM Voting

After much scrutiny...

1) 'Why Women Need Men' by 2nz (my mother swoons)
2) 'Can't Find My Penis' by Spaff (you make me laff)
3) 'A Bear Named Pooh' by Claude (I do applaud)

and to squabble over the scraps of worthiness: 'Peeled at a Pris' and 'Get My Homework Started'.

I am, of course, going along with the rule that TOP VOTE gets 3 POINTS and down the line to 1 point, if the numbers to the side confused anyone.

3 Points to "The Reasons Why Women Need Men" (2nz)
2 Points to "A Tongue-In-Cheek Parody Writer's Primer" (Johnny D)
1 Point to "A Bear Named Pooh" (Cluade)

Teriffic job by all this month. Honorable mention to Agrimorfee for "Nope"

So, who's the moron who forgot to number the entries?  Sorry about that; it's fixed now.  Also sorry that I'm disinclined to make time to comment on each song this month, but rest assured I have read and voted on each one.  I'm leaving for a couple weeks Monday so I'm taking care of this now.  I trust I can count on some civic-minded soul to post the vote totals and start the June entry thread in my absence.  All right, now for my choices:

3 points-- #11 Spaff -- I always look for a reason not to vote for him so people won't think I'm his bytch or something but there were WAY too many hilarious lines; sorry.

2 points-- #5 2nz -- Great idea, superb execution.  I felt certain I'd be voting for this song the day it was posted in May.

1 point--  #14 Phil -- The toughest choice, actually.  Edged out about six others simply by sticking in my head the longest.

3 points  - #11-"I can't find my Penis"/Spaff
2 points - #5-"A Tongue-In-Cheek Parody Writer's Primer"/JD - if I could have given these two joint first place, I would have done.
1 point - #15"Dyslexic (the anagram song)"/Jake

Honorable mention to 2nz for "The Reasons Why Women Need Men"

Thanks for the vote Philbo - but don't you mean #2, not #5 ?

D'Oh - picked the wrong Julie Andrews one... yes I do mean #2.

3 points to #15 - The Anagram Song. This is the first time I've ever printed out a parody, carried it with me for days, and studied it. If that ain't worth three points, I don't know what is.

2 points to #8 - A Bear Named Pooh. To me, Shel Silverstein stuff is hallowed ground, so a parody of his work had bloody well better be worthy. This is worthy.

1 point to #5 - The Reasons Why Women Need Men. I generally consider "charming" a pejorative when it comes to creative works, but this one charmed even me.

Wow - it's that time of the month already! ;-)

#11. The Mighty Spaff - I Can't Find My Penis Anymore 3 pts. (read this one when it first came out and kind of shrugged at it, but I took the time to follow along with the song today and it cracked me up!  ;D )

#5. 2nz - Why Women Need  Men 2 pts. (I knew weeks ago this one was going in my top three  :) )

#15. Jake a Ralphing - Dyslexic 1 pt. (because staring at it gave me a headache - ha!   :D )

My votes:
  3 points - #5. 2nz - Why Women Need  Men
  2 points - #15. Jake a Ralphing - Dyslexic
  1 point -  #2 Johnny D - A Tongue-In-Cheek Parody Writer's Primer

Besides Jake's parody giving me a headache, making up my mind between all the choices gave me a headache.  ;)

3 points - #11 - "Can't Find My Penis Anymore" - Spaff - A hilarious anatomical parody that manages to spoof a lot of celebrities.

2 points - #8 - "A Bear Named Pooh" - Claude Prez - An absurdly twisted spoof of the children's classic.

1 point - #11 - "Peeled at a Bris" - Merry & Pippin - It's easy to laugh at circumsion - when it happens to someone else.

1st: #8 Claude Prez "A Bear Named Pooh": Great idea, great timing, hardest laughter. I liked it before I knew the song, and it only got better after learning the original.

2nd: #15 Jake A Ralphing "Dyslexic": I've come back to and thought about this one way too much to not vote for it. It is a rare occurance when a lot of work is put into a parody and that parody is both addictive to read AND enjoyable to listen to.

3rd: #11 Spaff.com "Can't Find my Penis": The more I go back to read it, the more I like it. Fits the song and it starts out funny, but it gets funnier as the song progresses.

Honorable mention to MooRocca's "Boot Licker".

July just creeped right up there didn't it.

3pts - "Can't Find My Penis" by Spaff.com

2pts - "Beat It (The Teenager's Anthem)" Parody by Charlie Decker
Don't want to but have to.  ;)

1pts - "Move That Biddy" by Phil Alexander

Really sucked having to pick 3, mostly becuase there were only 4 original songs i knew.  :)

P.S. This is like my 4th modify to this post and I just wanted to say I didn't change my vote, actually added comments instead.

Congratulations, 2nz!  I think you indicated that you were going to Rome, so you might not find out about this for a while, but when you look at the list of parody writers who got votes and see your name at the top, you know you have accomplished something.

I didn't vote this month (because I didn't write a song this month)

Jeff, you don't have to vote every month, but Claude's rules indicate that anybody who has entered any SOTM contest can vote.

Thanks to MooRocca for tabulating the votes.

I dont have much access to a computer here in Rome  8) ;D but there are scattered internet cafes here. Thanks to everyone who participated. Im still shocked I won given the caliber of the parodies in this contest. But hey, whether I believe it or not, this is still awesome. You all take care and have a great contest in this month. Id love to enter something, but I wouldnt have time to read everyone elses and so vote fairly. Buon giorno e buona sera mi parodi amici. Auguri (Thanks Spaff, especially since I know what that means now  ;))
