Subject: ABC Round 123 Entry Thread

By popular demand, songs that begin with numbers, symbols, etc. After this, we'll have a "playoff" round for all the winners (top song only...voting on 81 songs might be a bit much), then start over at A. Deadline for entry is Sunday, March 6th.

Pretty slim pickin's on number songs in my catalog, but it's been so long since I've had ANY pickin's for an ABC round, what the heck...

I have a question. Would this qualify with the apostrophe in front of the name?

Never thought of that. I'm fine with it if everyone else is. I'm easy :)

Jeff - is there a rule that you can't enter songs for ABCs that have been entred before in any other competition? like SOTM?
And what about songs starting with a "(" ??

I have parodies that start with numbers but it seems that I spell my numbers out all the time like seventeen verses 17 unless that parody for some reason really needs the number in digit form. Can I use one of these if the parody starts with a number? Or I guess I can write one tonight that starts with a number and submit that after it posts.ÂÂÂ

Stu: Songs from other competitions are eligible here. So if you entered it in SOTM, you can enter it.
"(" I'd say is not eligible.
Apostrophe's are eligible. (See Adagio's submission)
Guy: I was wondering the same thing, since I'm in the same boat. I'd say that if it hasn't been entered for a letter, it's eligible here.
So, if you didn't use "Seventeen" for the "S" competition, you can use it as "17" here.
Wow...made this tough for myself ;D

Right you are, Jeff.
Seventeen
PS. (Don't actually submit this in the comp, it's just a joke. This parody bites.)

"(" I'd say is not eligible.
That makes it easy then, since I had two "(..."s and one "9..." - and only one is eligible
so I'll trott "99 Rubber Boobs" out again...

OK, I've been on the shelf for awhile in the contests so I think I'll dive back in here -
Original song: "49 Bye-Byes" by Crosby, Stills & Nash - the final track on their superb debut album from 1969 ~ ~ ~
I had only been posting on this site about 10 days when I wrote and put this one up...I still like it...but then I'm kinda partial to my own stuff ~ ~ ~
My version is called "49 Geezers"

"33.6 Modem", to the tune of 98.6. I'll put in a link to the original later, if I remember.

Hard choices... I'm going to go with ****ing Robin (with the thought that it's kind of lucky that the boy at the centre of the current trial *ain't* called Robin)
