Well, if Stuart McArthur's dream girl sees this I'm gonna be told that I "LICK ORANGE FUZZY MONK-EY BALLS" or something, but that's a risk I'm willing to take. Who knows, should this parody come by her it might even bring them back together in the comments field. :D

Never heard TOS before, but the song on the linked page below scans almost too perfect to the parody so unless someone says otherwise...

I'm not that down with John Denver, but I think it's him singing on the mp3 on this page. Can anyone second that?

February was a great month for parodies, so I'm not too surprised I ranked 14th  :). Let's see how I'll do for March.

It's kinda obvious that I'm submitting another Nickelodeon Idiot parody. This time, it's "St. Snicky."

http://www.amiright.com/parody/2000s/greenday266.shtml

And I'm glad I was able to (finally) find an online recording of this song, in case you DKTOS. I had to search a Boulevard of Broken Links to find a sufficient recording (other than on the CD). I figured you don't have time to buy the CD just for the SOTM contest.

Here's the recording (a Top of the Pops performance):
http://www.idobi.com/media.wml?vid=30355

Let's hope it can stay up before voting closes.  :P

Let the fun begin! :)

Edit to add: the lyrics, "Are you talking to me?/I'll give you something to cry about" are not sung in this TOTP performance. And please make sure the video plays from the beginning. Also, the video also shows them performing "Give me Novacaine," "She's a Rebel," "Welcome to Paradise," "Wake Me Up When September Ends," and "Jesus of Suburbia," so pretend that everything after "St. Jimmy" is not performed.  :)

Can't wait to read March's offerings. :)

JeffS, you have two problems:

1. It's a week past the deadline...make sure to read the rules post first!
2. All parodies entered here must have been submitted on AmIRight, and during the month specified in the contest.

I'd recommend learning the ropes a bit more before entering.

I had just typed out a similar response, pointing out your two main errors, Jeff...

...however, since they've now been pointed out, I'm not sure what other ropes there are to learn.  I think you should submit your parody to AmiRight TODAY...(here's a link)...

http://www.amiright.com/parody/submit.shtml

...and then enter this one in April's contest... :)

Welcome!!
