The Rules

2. Entries must conform to both the topic and time specifications...if in doubt, ask.
3. Topics are not limited to the decade, they are two seperate parts
4. On April 24th the entries close and the voting begins
5. Vote by replying to voting thread with your five favorites in order:
Top choice gets 5 points, next gets 4 points and so on to 1 point for your fifth favourite.
6. You're not allowed to vote for your own song.
7. DKTOS, is not allowed as a comment whilest voting
8. Once you've posted a vote, you're not allowed to change it.
9. Voting continues until May 8th

12. If you miss a submission deadline, you will not be entered in that event, but WILL be allowed to enter the next event.
However, there will STILL be an expectation that you comment and vote in the event you are not participating in, unless you have a valid reason for not being able to.
13. Rule changes may be suggested by any participant in their entry post. Changes are made only when a majority of that event's voters specify a "yes" vote along with their contest votes.
Scoring: Like the rules, the scoring is similar to the to the Decathalon, awarding the winner first place, with 10 points. Person who comes in 2nd, Points and so on, and so forth...
HAVE FUN!!!

Agrimorfee if you didn't start work on anything yet, I'm letting you regain full ownership of "Space Oddity". That song it tough.
As for me, I'm still going with the "Scrubs" idea, seeing that "Scrubs" is like my ultimate favorite TV Show, of all time (Next to ALF), and I'm doing it to a diffrent song
Possibly "Sweet Home Alamaba" if I can come up with anything to that...

Here's some help--
Anything with the word "rocks" could match against (Dr.) Cox...
The Eagles have a 1974 tune called "James Dean" that could match against "J.D."
I have no idea what to do yet. :o

I think I might do "Black and Blue" to Three Dog Night's "Black and White." That could be fun. :D

After realizing that "Black and White" doesn't have much potential, I'm currently planning to do something to David Bowie's "Life on Mars?" I've got a few lines in my head for that one.

I can't believe "Going to California" by Led Zepplin hasn't been done before :o
Well it soon won't be
Cause I'm pulling out "Going To Sanitorium"

Well, if you don't want to use the 'Black And Blue' theme, I may as well pinch it, but set it to a certain tune by The Who.

Okay... Okay... I didn't do my parody to the theme of Scrubs
http://images.salon.com/ent/tv/review/2006/05/17/scrubs/story.jpg
Instead I did, "Sweet Home Alabama" to "Treat Stove's Paranoia", which is the first parody mention of my Real Life nickname

I've had ideas for that song for a while, including "Growin' Geriatic". Best of luck with it, and note that Robert Plant does not pronounce most of the "to"s found on lyrics sheets, including in the title.
Can't wait to see what you come up with: it's a kick ass song.

I've toyed with doing a parody of Gypsies, Tramps & Theives for a long time. All I ever had for a title though, was "Gypsy's Traveling Fleas"! :D

I see you watched that Jack Nicholson movie where he play the philanderer in love with an author who is using him for ideas for her books.
