Hmmm... maybe I should resurrect my "Can I play with Lego" parody to Maiden's "Can I play with madness"... except that I didn't have enough ideas to finish it off five years ago, so who knows whether inspiration will strike.

What's "emo" when it's at home, anyway?

Emo is "emotional hardcore"...a kind of catch-all definition of punky sounding rock with lyrics about "emotional" subjects like hearbreak, loneliness etc etc. The most well-known emo groups in the noughties is Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance, but you may have heard of Panic! At The Disco, Funeral For A friend and Jimmy Eat World

Emo kids tend to look like this::

But on the most part, No.

I've just spent a fun few hours listening to some of my favourite metal (at least, until the post arrived), and the result is

Monopoly to Dr Stein... I've got a half-finished "Gordon Brown" parody to this tune, but I just can't seem to find enough that's funny about Brown to finish it off.  But it's a cracking Helloween tune that deserves a parody written to it (it was either that or Eagle Fly Free, which is my favourite Helloween number).

PS Stu - "Nerdy-arsed emo" is perfect :)

I need to disagree with you on this Dave. Punk is generally fast, wild and fun. Emo is usually depressing, and more of a hard style of music. I mean you couldn't say that My Chemical Romance's "The Black Parade" and Green Day's "Welcome To Paradise" are the same style of music. I would like to hear an example that you think that emo and punk are one in the same....

This round is hard for me, because Punk and Metal are my two favorite genres.
Emo, not so much, but ruleing down which band I want to parody for this round is tough enough, and once I do that I'll have to rule it down to one song, and then once I do that I have to make it into a game. This is tough.... Whew! But I'll continue to listen to my favorite music until I come up with something.

Good question, Ag - who would the perfect cast be (notwithstanding the fact a cast has already been chosen once - who I don't remember)

Miss Scarlet = Angelina of course
Prof Plum = Jeff Goldblum
Colonel Mustard = Nick Nolte
Miss Peacock = Cate Blanchett
Reverend Green = Kevin Spacey
Mrs White = Cloris Leachman

I like that idea, it definitely has potential - "Walk this way" is a bit odd in the genre department, being a rocky-rap sort of crossover.  So I'm going to wimp out of the question of whether it fits the genre...
