Competitors, please note that my video link is the best one in terms of sound quality and completeness. Combined with the lead vocal overlap and Mike Patton's unusual phrasings, reading the original lyrics in addition to hearing the video is HIGHLY encouraged.

Well, to be honest with y'all....as a topic, I don't think science brought out the best in anyone. Nevertheless.....

5 pts: Conq's chemistry

3 pts: Arwen's cute creation
2 pts: Stu's ex-planetary poem

It's been a blast! Thanks Matty for hosting Mk II...it's now DEFINITELY got to be an annual event.....

I hear that... But soon we'll run out of genres, but there's nothing wrong with doing genres over, and there's more than "genres" there's styles of music, which is slow songs.
So... Who's on for running it next year?

Well then...
5pts=Arwen (not just for giving me more brainpower than most people IRL would believe ;D, but really, this was tightly constructed, every rhyme different from the original's in place, just enough science embedded in it that it didn't scare off laymen, and built to a wonderful conclusion)
4pts=Kristof (for the funny)
3pts=Conqueror
2pts=BAD
1pt=Stu

And so we've reached the end...talk about a killer comp...I think my head about fell off several times.

Event 10 voting:

5 points for Phil
4 points for the Conqueror
3 points for Stuart
2 points for Kristof
1 point for BA Dave

Thanks guys...I had a ton of fun!  I hope you don't see that last verse of my entry for this round as brown nosing...I just wanted to pay tribute to all of you...who I will, from now on, refer to as "My Boys."  It's kind of unnerving to be the only girl in a competition...but you guys make it worth it!  Thanks again!

...and Stu crosses the finish line with one wheel off and a shattered windscreen.  I don't think I would have made it through an eleventh round, Matty, but once again it was a great comp and a great experience - glad you talked me into entering at the last moment - it's also a great amiright communal thing, and may it live on..

I just wanted to say thank you all for a fun contest, though I thought I'd do better and I thought I'd do worse in different rounds, you guys have taught me a lot in this round about myself.  I thank you all as you've helped me to realize that enjoying the OS I choose and enjoying writing is far more important than anything else. . .the songs I enjoyed writing the most have performed the best. . .Thank you all . .

This round's specifics

Several songs were more educational than funny, a very well done round as a whole. . .but the following 5 alas get my votes:)

HM to Phil: It was an awesome write, and it was tough between you and Arwen for my fifth and final slot. . .alas, I had to give Arwen the edge on a comedy scale, but I was very impressed with the Salt Ion inclusion and the idea as a whole.

1 Point to Arwen: As in my comment on the parody, I thought this one was very flattering and interesting in it's originality, Not drop dead hilarious, but enough humor to carry it.

2 Points to Stu: Again, not the funniest parody I've read, but I have to admit that I loved it enough to give it points yet again. . .

3 Points to Matthias: Matty, this song was so tough, and so original that I ended up giving it three points, but I pointed some things out on the parody itself that are very important to understand--props on taking on this particular song, please know my commentary is a personal observation of something that could take you to the next level and I'm stating very strictly as a friend.

4 Points to Kristof: The pacing was a bit rushed, but the idea WAS the funniest in the round, had the execution been a little tighter Kristof, you likely would have gotten my top vote. . .it was a very tough round for voting for me as a lot of parodies vied for spots here.

5 Points to The Conqueror of Parodies: I realize that this may tilt you over into victory and such, but honesty is key in my voting--and I did not want to know where we all stood entering my vote so if this puts you in first overall--it's because YOU EARNED IT.  This parody, TCOP, is one of your best writes to date, I left my in depth comment on your parody.  .  .congrats on this one!

Special Thanks to:
Kristof: for showing us how to write parodies
Stuart: for showing us how to have a sensitive side while being funny
Arwen: for showing us how to be consistent
Phil: for showing us that education can be humorous
Matthias: for hosting and keeping us all together
Jeff: for showing us the masterful art of puns
Conqueror: for showing us what continued determination can produce
Jack: for showing us how to parody Lady Marmalade
Agrimorfee: for showing us that voting early IS better than voting often
Mikey Squirrel: even though he left early, his participation is very well remembered

and to My mind for not giving up on me in this comp.

See you all in D3
