Let's qualify that...unless it's a parody of "Revolution 9"  ;)

miraculously I have internet again, so I'm going to try to write one before it gets cut off again. Right now I'm either half done or just need to cut and paste depending on how hard I want to try. I think I'm half done.

;)  Hey, I do have an incompleted Beatles spoof or two in my notebooks!  Tomorrow never knows, do it?

I'm glad my recent "Bride on the Run" wouldn't qualify, or else I'd be tearing my hair out for submitting it too soon!  ::)

I just finished - I checked amiright for a parody with this title and didn't see it and hopefully it hasn't been done professionally or semi-professionally yet.

Ah, the "vocals" in that song are so inaudible that laying a parody over it would be a breeze. Illegal, but easy.  :D

I have 7 starter ideas.  I just hope I can come up with something a little better then just a fun read.

I don't want to have to worry about this for the rest of the month, so here's my entry:

Can we enter a Beatles parody we've done? Especially since most of us have a at least 1 or 2 or more Beatles parodies out of 574975497595 of them  ;D

The rules seem pretty clear about it having to be a new submission, ideally thought of and written during the specific dates alloted for the round.

I'm going to look and see if there are any OS's that haven't been used to death

Subject: Re: AmIRight Idol Round 3 (Entry Deadline 7/31/2008)

Written By: EthanM on 07/19/08 at 7:44 am

Revolution #9 hasn't been used to death, but maybe it was dead already. The tough thing about this round (for those who aren't done) is that any remotely well known beatles song probably has at least a dozen parodies of it here.

It's going to be impossible to find a song by the Beatles that hasn't been done, because Rick Duncan has done them all.

I couldn't find one of the OS's I was thinking of but I'm sure it's somewhere.  I still don't really know what I want to do.  Maybe after doing some more work on my ACDC magic routine I'll get some more Ideas and motivation.

Are we allowed to parody "Stars on 45" since it IS the Beatles... Only a medley set to a disco beat of Beatles songs.

That's not really what we are looking for, Matty remember this is to be recorded. . .

The performances on that recording were all recreations (and very good ones, I might add), not clips from the original recordings, so that's a another reason for NO.

I liked Spaff's parody of "Stars on 45" which is why I wanted to do a parody of that song as well.

I don't think You're Gonna Loose That Girl has been done a million times.  I've got an Idea, but I don't think it will come out more then just being a write again.  I can sing, I can write, but to come up with stuff for the purpose of recording is something I can't seem to do often.  If I cant I cant and if I'm more of a magician then I'm more of a magician.  If I'm going too hard on myself I wouldn't be surprised I'm a perfectionist.  If I'm talking too much tell me to shut up and start writing.

:)  Okay, only two entries so far, plus only a handful of unentered Beatles parodies on the Amiright.com pages!  I've done three myself, with a fourth one brewing.  My fourth (actually, third) Beatle song has been done ten times already, and one of the entries partly covers my theme.  I'll probably post it in the next few days.

However, since I don't want to forget and miss the deadline, I'll now submit and commit to the parody I've been singing most:

Been away in the Hamptons for the weekend.  :) Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley both say 'Hey!". ;)  I plan to post my entry sometime tonight, so I don't know when the link will be available, but as soon as it is, I will post it here.  I have a few choices, all of which have been done many times before...but not by me, so it really doesn't matter how many times others have done a song, does it?!  Let me know what you all think.  Thanks.

It doesn't matter how many times an OS is used even if you used it yourself a bunch of times.  I just like starting new stuff or using stuff that hasn't been done as much when I can.

...Across The Universe soundtrack...that movie was AWESOME!!!

Eh...It was better than "Sgt. Pepper's Loneley Hearts Club Band", and yet...I thought Julie Taymor's earlier movie "Titus" was a phenomenally brave, weird and risky movie, but AtU seemed really rushed. It was bland when it should have been over the top (that bowling alley sequence, OMG! :o), and when it did go over the top it was just goofy.

Yup, only one.  Otherwise I would have tried submitting both "Riot" and "Evil Monkey".  Both are on AmIRight, but only one is linked for the contest.

Potential busyness is part of the reason why I wrote mine so quickly.  Now that we all know who's advancing, is it too much to ask to get the next round's theme before waiting for the judges' decision on a winner?

I will cast my vote today, I worked all weekend, just got home now, I try not to vote on long work days because I tend to be less open with my opinion, which can alter my voting, I want to be 100% fair with my vote, so I apologize if I am taking too long. . .I just don't want to make a hasty vote that could affect the winners..
