Week Seven
Steve Miller Band's "The Joker"
Karaoke Revolutionized is an ongoing project that allows parodists the opportunity to parody popular songs that they wouldn't ordinarily take a look at, especially the older folks on this site who generally stick to 60's and 70's hits. This project follows the famous games that allow players to sing along to their favorite songs, using microphones that hook up to the Playstation 2. Usually all big top Billboard hits, with on the rare occasion a few exceptions.
This week's song is "The Joker" by the artist Steve Miller Band

- The Steve Miller Band is an influential American blues rock band, led by Steve Miller on guitar and lead vocals
- Their hits include...
- "Space Cowboy"

- "Rock 'N Me"
A little information on the song, "The Joker"...
- "The Joker" is an iconic song by the Steve Miller Band from their 1973 album The Joker. The song is one of two Steve Miller Band songs that feature the neologism "pompatus".
- The song is sometimes misidentified by the title "Space Cowboy" because of the first line of the lyrics, which actually refer to an earlier song by that title from Miller's Brave New World album.
- At the end of the song, Steve Miller references lines from the 1954 The Clovers song "Lovey Dovey" when he sings "Lovey dovey, lovey dovey all the time" and "Really love your peaches, wanna shake your tree".

I've had an on-again,off-again idea for this tune...but not for its title, but for one of its lyric lines. :-X Maybe this will get me to actually do it.

It's kind of a test of endurance, versatility and speed. It's really helped me branch out in my OS choices.
