Vote by replying to this thread with your five favorites in order:

1st choice........5 points
2nd place.........4 points
3rd place..........3 points
4th place..........2 points
5th place..........1 point

or in algebraic terms, p = 6 - r    (p=points, r=rank)

RULES
- Any parody beginning with the current letter is eligible, except parodies that have been entered into ABC1 or ABC2 or ABC3
- You're not allowed to vote for your own parody
- Once you've posted a vote, you're not allowed to change it
- Anyone who's participated in any previous ABC contest may vote
- Any entrant who hasn't left a comment on all entries is disqualified and may not participate in the next letter
- Any entrant who doesn't vote by the voting deadline (above) is disqualified and may not participate in the next letter

However the resulting disqualification from entry to the next ABC4 comp may be over-ruled, if you do the following...

  1.  Post an "appeal" on this thread giving your excuse for missing the deadline, and plead for mercy
  2.  If your plea wins the sympathy of 3 other entrants your disqualification from the next round will be overturned
Your late votes will still not count though
(if less than 4 entrants in the comp, only 2 sympathetic "Thumbs Ups" are required)

Well, I think that's a first. Copy/paste error? I'm not sure what the rules on this would be, but I'd propose this:

Leo, Matt, and Dave's positions or points shouldn't be changed. If you give SilverPower 5 points, you simply pick someone else for the 2 points (4th place). If you meant to give him 2 points, you pick a new top spot.

The only precedent I know of for a null vote was in SOTY (2006, I think), where an entrant voted for a parody not in the contest. IIRC, all other votes he gave were set, and he could only change the one vote in error.

:-\\  I think I'm going to have to let this one go.  My work load is just too heavy, and I'm behind on my homework.  :\'(

Not asking for mercy this time.  Too bad: I was thinking of entering either my "Love Client Number 9" or "Little Big Horn Medley" for the L's.

Good luck, y'all.  See you in August, maybe?  ::)

Leo - like I said in my comments - the best Bo-Rhap I've seen in a while - double congrats for winning on an OS that has been overplayed and doing an excellent job of it. The Trek theme didn't hurt you either. I'm glad to have given you the 5 vote - you earned it.  BTW - I'm using the Bo-Rhap OS in my ABC05L round of comps - still yet another gangster yarn.  I hope this does half as well as yours, but I realize that the gangster theme is getting tiring but I can't help myself writing them.  I tried to tie each parody into a continuing story about gang life.  I get this experience somewhat honestly or otherWISE.  ;)  ;D

And Matt - I am happy to share the number 2 spot with a great writer as yourself - congrats on a fine write.

Thanks to all who voted for my "Chill, Rocco, Mole and Me" parody.  Some people didn't care for the poetic license that I often use especially when writing in the 1st person so that the reader can get a feel, in this case, for how a mobster speaks.  Agri - you made a comment on it pushing the envelope on poetic license and grammar liberties I took but you still gave me a vote on it - THANKS Ag!

I grew up in an area that had lots of wiseguys about and I learned the speak from the best - or should I say worst.  My writing often bears unconventional syntax and grammar - a distinction that has earned me the trade mark of "guyspeak" by a few of my writing peers.  I'd rather feel comfortable in my writings pushing the envelope than playing for the points  It's become part of my signature.  I especially thank those who understand "guyspeak" and voted accordingly.  I really didn't expect a medal in this round and it has been a pleasant surprise.  Thanks again to all for both constructive criticism and acceptance of my "guyspeak" as was reflected in your comments and votes on this comp.  You are all a great bunch of writers - probably the best in the world.  I am proud to be one of your peers.  Thanks again, all.  And to everyone else - "good show".

Thanks to all for your welcome comments and votes!!!...It's a great honor to share the podium with the likes of Guy and Matthias - congratulations to both of you!!!...And congratulations to the rest of the participants, whose parody skills made this so difficult to judge!!!...Every time I participate in one of these competitions, I feel like I gain greater insight into what makes people laugh, which I think is the whole point of the AmIRight experience!!!...That said, I think I'll go Beam myself up and start working on my next 80 proof spoof!!!
