Below Average Dave is stepping down from position of SOTM moderator at the end of this season.

It has been a privilege and an honor to help InThe00s host one of the most compelling contests for parody writers ever to be created for two years, but with my demanding school credits, and the shift of focus to my albums I am going to be unable to continue in this role.  I will still participate to the best of my ability in the contest whenever I feel I have a qualified entry and will still host this years Song of the Year, December 2010 SOTM and 2010 WildCard Round but after that this contest will be hosted by all star veteran JEFF REUBEN.  For me this has  been a huge year and I'm trying to make 2011 even stronger in my personal life. . .I thank all of you for the many votes in the Song of the Month series for 2010, and trusting me to host this competition throughout the year.

As some of you may know, while I still draw the artist--Artistry has been passed to Matthias--at least for the immediate future--so the only contest I'll still be hosting is ABC, though that to I'm looking to eventually step down from.  I simply don't have the time I used to when I took it all on and don't want to post all of your results late because I'm unable to post them on time. . .

Let me be the first to say that your efforts have been much appreciated!  :)

There has been only three major mods to this contest over its seven year run, Claude Prez (who started it), Stuart McArthur (who I fear burned himself out as a parody writer) and You (who have carried the torch with even less help than you predecessors, from what I can tell).

Normally I'm a fan of coincidences but this time it gives me no pleasure to find that the timing for my own stepping down from the FUCA bonus Award after the next round has been taken parallell to yours, that's a much smaller pair of shoes to fill but nevertheless not optimal to come at the same time. The reasons for me doing that was posted on another thread earlier today, see the second part of my (the third) post on this thread:

I definitely accept, as you are more than qualified for the position (heck probably more than I  :D )  I will gladly hand over the reign to you and will be around to help out. . .thank you.

Officially: Jeff Reuben, as of the January 2011 SOTM entry thread, is now the moderator of the SOTM!!!!

I had submitted at least 15 parodies to the site this past month, so I had a heck of a time picking one for this contest. I hope I made the right choice. Enjoy.

Hey Peter I was just wondering who's taking over the FUCA Awards for you? If no one, I'd be interested in taking over. I think I can handle it.

This was supposed to be outside the quote, right?  ;)

I'm cool with you taking over, if no-one else objects you can have the power right away, newbie energy is a precious resource if you ask me! :-)

I was gonna do the next round but let's hear what the mod has to say, I think there are two ways to go about it.

a) The mod(s) transfer the original FUCA list post to you, so that you can update it.
or
b) You copy/paste and start a new thread about it.

If option b is preferred I'll send you a Word document I use offline to update and copy/paste from myself every month.

It's official then, Blaydeman is the new power in charge of the FUCA consolation Award thread and stuff in among the SOTM contests.

Dave, just a thought here, with all the power switches and stuff how about extending the sign up period of this particual round over the full weekend? Someone interrested might drop by and be confused, thinking it's to late already.
