Subject: Hip-Hop Specialist Round 3 (LL Cool J) Entry thread (Enter by 2-21-11)

General Rules:
1. Entry must be submitted by replying to the entry thread by the set deadline or it is ineligible for the contest.
2. All entrants must read and comment on every entry. If not done then the entrant is disqualified.
3. All entrants must vote by replying to a seperate voting thread to the contest. This must be done before the voting deadline or the entrant will be disqualified.
4. Votes will be cast using a point system. You pick your favorite 5 parodies and place them 1-5. 1st (5pts), 2nd (4pts), 3rd (3pts), 4th (2pts), 5th (1pt).
5. You may not vote for your own parody.
6. At the end of the voting period, the points will be tallied, and the parody with the most points wins.
7. If there is a points tie, the parody that got the most first place votes will be the winner. And so on and so forth in the case of multiple ties
8. If you are disqualified from a round for any reason you maynot participate in the following round.

I have to admit, all that I know about LL Cool J is what the name stands for, and that's from a stand-up comedian (Ed Byrne, BTW). Therefore, I've got a lot of choice this round. But don't worry, I'll think of somethin'...

I think I'm going to do a parody of "Mama Said Knock You Out" because that's the only LL Cool J song that I ever heard of.

Is there any way we can make the voting thread 3 weeks instead of 2? Rap is a lot harder to write than other genres and thus I think another week is total needed for a lot of us.

Well there was a extension for the t.i. entry, so the voting period was pushed back. And there is also an extension for the ll cool j entry so u actually have until the 21st to enter.

My parody of Phenomenon is submitted for tomorrow! (I know it wasn't listed, but this LL song was such a fun one from the 90s, I remember when it blew up--I love LL Cool J as a hole, but for me this one showed a side of him I didn't know existed--a less serious side...)
