Not even going to bother writing a new one for this... Gordon Lightfoot's not worth it.

Definitely NOT doing TWOTEF now...don't mind me I'll think of something, trick is keeping my mind on task, it tends to veer away when country/folk music is involved.

If you are stuck for a song, try this one, it is more upbeat, shorter, and has some nice ryhming opportunities.

I actually enjoy this song... Well as far as somebody can "enjoy" something by Gordon Lightfoot  ;)

I just noticed we are off on the numbering, and it happened back during the King Crimson / RuPaul rounds. It should be:

Round 92: King Crimson
Round 93: RuPaul
Round 94: Dean Martin
Round 95: George Michael
Round 96: Robbie Williams
Round 97: Pantera
Round 98: Gordon Lightfoot

So this is round 98, not 97.

Thanks, that would have really sucked when I got to the final artist and had to go back and find out why I'm an artist short

Me and Bob Dylan are huge Lightfoot fans.  The man is a wordmaster.

"Dylan presented Lightfoot with his induction into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame in 1986"

"Carefree Highway" shall become "Empty Highway" sometime soon. It'll be the first time I've written a parody not in my room! I'm in hospital ATM, in case anyone cares.

Hospital? Why?

Hospital? Why?

Little thing called Guillame-Barre Syndrome. Basically I can't walk and my arm strength is diminished. Luckily it hasn't interfered with my breathing so far, and it's getting better - the physios said I might be able to stand in two days, which'd make a cool gift for my sister, who's birthday is in two days. That clear things up?

That's just awful.  Good luck to you and hope you can keep in under control.

Wow, hope you're up and about. Also hope you're in the category of "most people" since the prognosis I looked up says "Most people survive and recover completely." I guess after conquering Guillame-Barre, conquering parodies will be nothing.

Thanks guys. My attempts an standing so far have been less than successful - it's like, I know what I want to do, but my legs refuse to co-operate. And I never thought I'd miss being able to wiggle my toes. Srsly.

Well, COP, I hope you conquer your malady and return to us anew and refreshed- and able to wiggle your toes.  ;) And speaking of toes (see what I did with the segway there?):

Tomorrow there shall be

It'd be scary if the disease worked like it usually does, which means I'd have trouble breathing. Luckily, it just skipped my chest and messed up my arm strength. But the point is I just wrote a parody about my whole ordeal. That's Level 7 of the Epic 40 finished!

Hallo there! Here's a surprise, I'm in on this one! Two reasons. One: My new non parody sphere writing project isn't going so well, in fact I have total writer's block on it, so I have the time and this might be the move to break up the stride. Two: There's one parody in particular I've always regretted that I didn't enter into SOTM (opted for one that was funnier) and it's this one, my one and only take at The Wreck, one I myself count as being one of my absolute best works, despite the lack of funny. I remember that I almost pulled an all-nighter finishing it, ten straight hours of like total trance before my mind bonked and I fell asleep. Seems like this is a godsend opportunity for a second chance:

Good look TCOP. . .get well soon  :-\\

I will take care of these round first thing tomorrow morning, I did my parody but forgot to post it. . .I'm sorry guys, I really don't want to miss this round but if somehow I forget to get my parody on the site by tomorrow I will sit out--I refuse to put "The Lust for Ms Candy X Cleevage" in a contest because. . .well I consider it my worst AmIRight parody to date. . .so yeah don't want to put it up in this one unless I seriously redid it.
