Subject: 2012 SONG OF THE YEAR (NEW DEADLINE: TUESDAY, 4/2) RESULTS POSTED

Like last year, please vote for your ten favorite parodies in order 1st to last or last to first, but clearly label your top and bottom choices
The top three songs for each month are eligible for song of the year. In the event of a tie for 3rd place, I have placed both songs in the competition.
All voters will earn ten points towards each song they have entered in the competition
While voting is optional and carries no penalty in the SOTM contest, a person who does not vote cannot earn a podium spot, and if they do point wise will automatically be shifted to the highest non-podium spot.
Deadline is March 31st. Good luck! And please let me know of any problems with the links.

10 pts- Vegetation
This combines the inappropriate humor of Matty's spoof and the story of Arwen's. Combining the catchy OS, with a really weird story is hilarious. A person who is in love with trees and bushes? Kinda weird, but you filled out all the details within the spoof. A lot of great rhymes in this spoof and it makes me laugh every time I read it. I could literally gush over every line of this parody, but I'll just leave it up to...excellent work!
9 pts- Jars
You know you have written a good spoof when whenever you hear the OS, you can only think of the parody. Such is the case with this one. I'm becoming more and more of a fan of Taylor Swift, so that helps too. Finding a suitable word that rhymes with "ours" and making a full parody about it is impressive as well. I love the idea of the character, a strong, independent woman, whose only weakness is nothing being able to open a jar. Great job.
8 pts- My Genetalia
I'm a big fan of inappropriate humor, so this is right up my alley. Plus an awesome title switch, funny lines, and spot on pacing, gives this spoof a huge plus. The only reason it isn't number one or two is because it's just joke after joke with no real story (which I'm also a big fan of). But either way, spot on.
7 pts- Those Who, Perhaps, Shouldn't Vote
I really like the OS, so that gets points from me. I think the fact that it is topical to an election year, especially last year with the bombardment of commecials and whatnot, is a plus because it needed spoofing. Lots of funny lines in here as well.
6 pts- Stop Declining My Visa
Love the title switch for one. The rhyming and pacing was spot on as well. It's simple enough a story for people to understand and connect to. From increasing from food to taxi to a prostitute is incredibly funny. Nice work.

I figured I'd better get this done before it's the end of March and I've forgotten all about it. Also...did not feel like being productive today at work. Hahaha.
I'm always interested to know if my top votes for SOTY were my top votes for their respective months in SOTM. Way too lazy to go back and check, though. It's true, though, that different songs appeal to me in different ways sometimes the second or third time through...so maybe some that I wasn't 100% in love with before re-caught my eye this time around. :)

At least my genitalia made it up on the podium. It might not measure up to the biggest numbers but it's not the size it's how you use it.

Everyone: Sorry for not voting here this year but with a win margin of over ten points for the best song I guess I can take comfort in that it wouldn't have mattered. It's been harder than usual at work and as if that wasn't enough I've been moving up to running (OK, jogging) an ultra marathon instead of just dicking around long on my free time as usual, so more time spent out there too.
BTW: I think this is the first time that the SOTY winner is a song that didn't win its SOTM - Amiright?
And of course - Congrats to 2nz!
