Have any vacation photos that depict that special or unique moment you were there? Please share.. I am sure we've got plenty to spread around  :)

Unique for me would be that we even went.  I don't get to go on vacation much.  We went to Yellowstone in July.

Yellowstone is cool :)

I'd have to have my wife post some of our trip across the country, and also on our roadtrips and camping trips if we still have them around.

I love Yellowstone.  That is a waterfall just south of Old Faithful.  It was beautiful.  Pictures don't do it justice.  I am thinking of taking the short one back next year and taking a couple of days to explore.  Unfortunately we only had one day this year.  You can't even begin to see it all in one day.

My dad used to drive from CA to Wyoming every other year to take us to Yellowstone.  We'd spend a few days there just to see the scenes and stuff.  Great place.

Also went to Yosemite a bunch, there are some awesome rock formations and waterfalls in that park as well.

Jess and I took the boy camping at Shasta Lake a couple times, also wonderful natural beauty.

So.. this will take some explaining.

I went to the Burleigh Horse Trials (Meaning I have been to every 4 star trial in the world) however, the night before I'd stayed up until about 5 drinking Creme De Menthe and Pernod. So, I lay down on the grass and decided to have a nap. Well, I was out like a light in some sort of wonderful semi-coma.. and whilst I was asleep some horrible bastard put the dog on me.

So, this is me asleep at Burleigh with a dog on me.

You know I love it!  (because I'm a pig lover.)  I also LOVE Lake Tahoe.  Where is that golf course located?  I used to live close to the lake (In Carson City) but it's been a few years since I've been there.

I figured you'd like it since you're fond of pigs. The mini-golf course is on the California side between the Lake recreation area and the outlets. We always go while we're up there. We vacation there every summer for a week.

I love it too, and have been going every summer for the past 8 years. It's a lot nicer now that they've built up the area. The heavenly Village is awesome and of course the Lake is spectacular.  the mini-golf course is where they have this little cheepie kids carnival rides place.

Thanks.  Yeah, it's totally awesome.  Alot to do there, whether it actually has to do with the falls (stand peering at them, go underneath them (on the Canadian side), or boat right up next to them (Maid of the mist on the United States side).  Clifton Hill has wax museums and Ripley Believe it or not Museums.  There is a Hard Rock Cafe and a Planet Hollywood there.  Two gambling casinos, Marineland (which is kinda like Sea World)  and a live butterfly "display" plus tons of restaurants.  I love love love Niagara Falls (at least on the Canadian side.)  On the United States side, there is less to do, but none less fun, there is an aquarium, a Native American Indian museum, a wax museum, plus shopping outlet mall nearish, also I think you can tour the hydro electric plant (although I have not done so yet.)  I like going in May because the weather is pretty nice and the flowers are in bloom.  I think they should pay me to advertise for them.  lol

Lots lol. We went like on this one little cruise thing for a day, though this area with glaciers, and they served salmon. I did fishing in some rivers, with the wader things on. I rode on my brothers ATV. Climbed a few small mountains. Ate some excellent fish.

Ahhh, Disney World. I've never been, but I was thinking of planning a trip there for this Summer, and also seeing the surrounding attractions. They look really cool!

I love Disney.  We went there in our honeymoon (almost 18 years ago).

It will be so hot if you go during the summer.

Yeah, that is true. Anaheim is pretty hot and humid during Summer, too. I was at Disney LAND in 1989, which was 18 years ago - I am guessing you were at Disney World  :) Well, maybe I can do an Autumn vacation, as that's how it's looking anyway. Thanks for the tip :0)

Yes, in August!!  It was terribly hot and crowded.  I think fall and winter are great times to go, try to avoid school holidays like Christmas break if at all possible.

Thanks Erin.

9-10 would be a great age.  Megan and Hunter had fun but they couldn't ride all of the rides and we didn't even bother going to Epcot.

Start saving now!!  ;D

I love Disneyland. Cool pics Kristen. We haven't been there in about 3 years. Last time we went, Diane and Julie said I could not have any coffee unless I rode the Tower Of Terror with them first thing in the morning, so of course I rode it because I'd do just about anything for my morning coffee, and after we rode it, they bought me a souvenir commuter mug which I promptly filled with coffee.

more pics from my vacation. Diane & I went on a 2 mile hike Wednesday morning, & with lots of uphill hiking, it seemed like longer but the views of the lake, the mountains, trees, & waterfalls made it worth the effort. Diane didn't want to follow me up this trail in the 1st pic so I had to come back down & we took a smoother safer path & in the 2nd pic, I got this feeling that I was the King of the Mountain

This is the return part of the trip. We essentially made a big loop around the country (I-55, I-40, I-17 to Phoenix, some highway to I-8, I-5 again, Highway 101, I-5, and I-80).

Somewhere in the Sierras on I-80.

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o283/Nerdprincess1980/sdDSC01713.jpg

Finally got a prairie dog to hold still for a picture. Somewhere in Wyoming (I love the western part of this state. So beautiful.)

more pics from my vacation.

I saw some similar pictures of yours in the other photo threads...once again, they're very scenic. :)

This is the return part of the trip. We essentially made a big loop around the country (I-55, I-40, I-17 to Phoenix, some highway to I-8, I-5 again, Highway 101, I-5, and I-80).

Somewhere in the Sierras on I-80.

Metaphor, the tree of Utah. Right after you pass the Salt Flats (equally cool, but my pictures didn't turn out), you'll see this tree pop up out of nowhere.

Considering how godawful boring Nebraska and Iowa are, I didn't take any pictures. This, however, is the Mississippi River as we crossed into Illinois.

I do too. I haven't been there in ages. The first time I went, was 21 years ago this month, when I was 6. That was my very first vacation. That whole area (Carmel, Monterey, etc.) sure is lovely; it's just a long way away (300+ miles) from where we've lived.

I'm not enthralled with the Aquarium because 1. I've seen it eleventy million times, 2. They've really screwed up how cool it used to be, and 3. It's extremely expensive. Jason, however, had an awesome time because he's never seen it before, so seeing him excited about it was rewarding in itself. We got stuck at the penguin exhibit for an hour though, due to his infatuation with "Happy Feet". :D I do like the views from the outside of the Aquarium. Nothing like seeing the whole bay all at once.

Didn't make it to Carmel this time around. We had three weeks to visit family and friends and that definitely took all our time, considering how large our families are. ;D

Yeah, road trips are quite fun, but you definitely need the stamina to drive all that way. On the outward trip, I managed to drive a little bit for Rice, but I have issues driving a manual transmission. :P The way back I didn't drive at all because our car was packed to the brim with gifts, food, and a new pet, so I couldn't adjust the seat.

i've always been incredibly bored by castle and cathedral tours, but these guys found a way to spice it up: make you think you're going to plummet to your death! you go up and through all these little narrow staircases and over rickety wooden walkways suspended at least five stories over the ground while the tour guide tells you the story of how the entire structure has disastrously collapsed only once, and that really not that many people slip over the edge and fall every year. the number of untimely deaths of tourists here is really quite manageable. it was sorta half tour, half thrill ride.

the water was really warm...but it was cold on the surface.  We had a great time until Bode chaased ducks out into the middle of the lake.  Then I swam after her because I was worried about the motorboats.
We raced back to shore.  She is fun in the water.
