I think they are too big to use as avatars.  I had mine in my signature line for awhile, it still cut off the bottom half of the picture (even when I made it smaller).

Ok, go to your photobucket and choose one of the animated pics. Doesn't matter which one.
Click it and a new screen will pop up. Across the top there is a button that says "resize"
Click the down arrow next to it and choose "avatar"
Save it - when it asks if you are sure - say yes of course....
Then go to the newly resized mees and copy the code, put it in your profile and VOILA!!! You are good to go!!!

Thanks, I now own two pairs of purple jeans so I chose to wear them in the picture.  :)  The hair is that colour when I first get it coloured, it's a semi permanant so it fades to a kind of reddish brown which it is at the moment. The first time I had it done so red was a  :o moment but I got to love it!

Mind you you should see it now, when it gets a bit too long and then it gets wet and goes bonkers with mad bits and curls sticking out all over!?! Thank god for hats is all I will say!  ;D 

I wonder if I can do a whole "Meez" band....

The two pictures I'm using in my signature now have to do with songs.  One of them is easy to guess.  It seems that if you resize the gif it wont animate.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.  I don't know why.  I resized mine in my signature line.

I've tried several times to get my Stray Cat meez to play air guitar and it wouldn't.  Oh well I don't know what animation if any I'd want to with the other one.

The shows at the theater are always fun, I've only been to one, and the theater was a big big mess after the show was done.  lol  That was the last time they showed that one.

Every now and then they show it in Cincinnati (about a half hour drive from here), although we have yet to drive down and see it there.  Maybe someday when we have nothing better to do.  They usually show it at midnight.

That's what happened to my meez.  If you open a free meez account and provide a link to your profile, it'll show the whole animation on your meez profile.

But in the end, it's just one more place that you get junk mail from, so you gotta determine if it's worth it.  ;)

I haven't done anything with my meez for a while.  They were offering free rainbow hair so I put it in my closet and made myself a clown doing the can can.  I'm meezrocksann if you want to look now or later some time.

Wow.  I remember this little dot-com from 2006.

If Meez had done it in Flash (instead of animated .GIFs) and integrated itself more deeply into Facebook's marketing partners (instead of MySpace), everyone who ever worked there might have ended up as gazillionaires.  It was a small step from the Meez concept to having one's Meez avatar in Farmville, Mafia Wars, or some such.  But what seems obvious in hindsight seems silly in 2006/7/8.

The most amusing quote from this Forbes article on the company:

“If there were no competitors, I’d be really worried,” says Ryan, who developed the Rhapsody music service while running Listen.com, sold the company to RealNetworks (nasdaq: RNWK - news - people ) in 2003, and left after a year. “But this still beats the digital music business.”

Yeah, about that no-good, digital music business?  Well, yeah, Rhapsody got sold to RealNetworks, and RNWK spun it off in 2010, and probably got more for it in the spinoff than Meez would be worth today. 

Surprisingly, Meez is still in business as of mid-2011, having shifted its focus to avatars for apps.  Something tells me Rhapsody - while probably not worth the $3B that Pandora is worth - still got the better end of the deal relative to Meez :)
