Subject: My hubby's Thailand photos (so far)

Written By: bookmistress4ever on 01/14/16 at 12:34 am

He's not done a lot of sightseeing yet.  He's mostly just trying to get the lay of the land, and learn the language.

But, here's what he's sent me, so far:

The street from the balcony of his second place to stay, it is looking towards the night market.  Lots of wires.

Rows of pigeons around a water fountain on the street

A different street.  Lots of motorbikes there.  Hard to cross the street on foot, you have to cross like you are playing a game of Frogger.

I think he said this was breakfast.  And the whole thing (including tea) cost $4. They don't tip in Thailand (but James does a little.)  But it looks good, doesn't it?

Here are a couple videos, nothing too exotic.

Here is a Soy cat (stray alley cat) that James stalked in and out of a business.  He's cute.

I know you are probably waiting for exotic local pics, and they will be taken soon.  Just trying to get settled first.

The images just look like The Philippines, which is not so far away.

I wish your husband well out there.

Fantastic pics so far...

The food prices are amazing (and the food looks good too)

What kind of apt is he looking for? How does rent look there. I watch a lot of House Hunters but not a lot of house hunters international but now i'm going to look for some in Thailand to get an idea what he (and you) are up against!

Right now he is just staying at a series of guesthouses.  Which equate to a room, and sometimes food included.  Sometimes you get your own shower/bathroom.  Sometimes not.  All depends on how much you want to pay.  He is trying to keep it economical, so he is paying about $10 a night, but renting an actual apartment costs a little more.  Again, depends on what you are looking for. I'm really not picky, I would just like a Western-style bathroom.  I don't even necessarily have to have a kitchen.  The Thai style kitchen is kinda like a big open to the outside room, and it has... something like a wood stove (sorta) that you can cool on, but not bake.  Doesn't matter much to me.  I'll figure it out.  lol

Anyways, rent can run the equivalent of $300 American to much more if you want fancy and big.  We're not looking for fancy nor big right now.  Just to save money as best as we can.

Yeah, he's got a nice camera phone.  He took his expensive camera also, but has not used it yet.

Nice photos. I've always wanted to go to Thailand! It looks a lot like the other Asian countries I've been to, especially Malaysia.  :)

I can only imagine what far away parts of the world are like. I only see these countries on Amazing Race when they run through the cities on their missions.  Does he say what his favorite part about being there is?
