Subject: Crazy Don's 1970's lyrics quiz!

Written By: Crazy Don on 05/29/02 at 11:40 a.m.

This time I am doing a 1970's lyrics quiz.  I am giving you the lines from a song from the 1970's and I want you to identify it by title and artist.  When a correct answer is given, it will appear in italics underneath the line and the initials of the provider of the correct song by title and artist will be given.  Here goes:

1.  All the games we used to play fade away
Chicago--Make Me Smile (gol)

2.  And all the girls dreamed that they'd be your partner
Carly Simon--You're So Vain (A)

3.  Never been awake/Never seen a daybreak
Pilot--Magic (gol)

4.  Guaranteed to blow your mind so high it won't come down
Spinners--The Rubberband Man (MI)
(Would have accepted the band name "Detroit Spinners" from any British poster)

5.  You need educatin'/Gotta go to school
Bachman-Turner Overdrive (aka BTO)--You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet (JC)

6.  Way past one and feelin' all right
Sweet--Little Willy (A)

7.  Gettin' lost in her lovin' is your first mistake
Gordon Lightfoot--Sundown (A)

8.  And nice guys get washed away like the snow and the rain
Glen Campbell--Rhinestone Cowboy (gol)

9.  I know you're workin' for the CIA
War--Why Can't We Be Friends? (A)

10. When things turn out bad/You know I'll never be lonely
Queen--You're My Best Friend (Gam)

Now that all the correct answers have been given, this quiz is now over.  Thank you very much.
