Subject: Crazy Don's 1970's lyrics quiz, part 2

Written By: Crazy Don on 06/06/02 at 06:35 a.m.

You know the rules.  Identify these songs from these lyric lines by title and artist.  As soon as a correct answer is given, it will be placed in italics underneath each lyric line with the provider of the correct aswer's initials in parentheses.  Here goes:

1.  Used to be my life was just emotions passing by
Bread--Baby I'm-a Want You (MI)

2.  With fifty girls to attend him/They all send him
Maria Muldaur--Midnight at the Oasis (A)

3.  I brought you a crate of papaya
The Steve Miller Band--Jungle Love (MI)

4.  There's no need to be unhappy
Village People--YMCA (MI)

5.  Soft and low the music moans
England Dan & John Ford Coley--Nights Are Forever without You (Gam)

6.  They don't bark and they don't bite
King Harvest--Dancing in the Moonlight (MI)

7.  Girl, we've got to feed the fire
The Addrisi Brothers--We've Got to Get It On Again (Gam)

8.  It's a fact that people get lonely
Billy Swan--I Can Help (A)

9.  And there's a reason for the candlelights
The Bellamy Brothers--Let Your Love Flow (A)

10.  You could throw a rock from end to end
Sammy Johns--Chevy Van (Gam)

This quiz is now over.  (Sorry, Zella and FBVP, these guys beat you to it!)  Thank you very much.

Actually, song #6 is "Dancing in the Moonlight" by King Harvest; song #4 is not.  But you are correct.  (That screen name of yours is quite a pun but you are correct!)

Song #4 is still open, though…

Good with lyrics, bad with numbers!  Would number 4 be YMCA by the Village People?
