#1 It may not be what you're looking for, but "Flagpole Sitta'' by Harvey Danger.

3. The word Chartreuse appears in John Prine's "He Forgot That It Was Sunday", who talks of a Chartreuse four-door Lincoln. This is NOT the one you are looking for (probably)

Hey Bobo !

There's John Prine again - I know you'l lhave impressed somebody with that !

As for me, I have never heard of him (excpt for the last time you mentioned him).

Whilst I have no doubt as to the validity of your answer, it's NOT the one I was looking for.

Interestingly, though, in the song I am looking for the owrd is used to describe the colour of....a vehicle !

I actually know lots of songs with the word 'rottenness' in them, but none of them are by Harvey Danger.   ;D

Remember the theme tune from the film "Convoy"?  Can't remember who it was by, but I have it here (long time ago parody idea that never came to fruition):

Quoting:We went for broke
With a thousand screamin trucks
And eleven long haired Friends of Jesus
In a Chartreuse microbusEnd Quote

Is that the one you were thinking of?

Hi Goreripper :

"...I had visions I was looking into the mirror,
To see a little bit clearer
The rottenness and evil in me..."

That's the bit I was thinking of.

Convoy was sung by CW McCall
This lyric is from the original (from Black bear road)
They did a new version for the film (with no chartreuse micra-bus in sight)

Need some hints huh ?

# 2  Gun Grease

This 60's song had planes and religion scattered through it....

# 5  Fuddy Duddy

This late 90's song was about long-lost love being re-ignited by a chance meeting in the street
